Mabari possessed by Duncan. Full VO but only Varric can understand it. Why? Cause of Chesthair.

No.

That should be a entire standalone franchise.

What I want to know is whether or not this DLC companion counts as one of the nine confirmed companions, or whether they will bring the total number up to ten.

As for the DLC itself, I want them to feel like a full companion. ME is much worse at this than Dragon Age if you ask me. Zaeed, Kasumi and Javik really don't behave in the same way to the other squad mates and they just feel out of place as a result.

I get Zaeed and Kasumi, but Javik? He has lots of unique content. He's a loner, but that's cause he's a douche.

I hate that its gotten to the point where we expect a DLC bonus character. Shouldn't it just be in the game by default?

No. Why would it be?

Because the character was already made. It isn't like some pre-order bonuses where they give some small dumb weapon, its a full fledged character it should be included within the main game.

Stuff like this is why people hate EA.

I'm okay with companion DLCs so long as they maintain the balance of being unessential, yet also reactive to events and other party members… and you can't really do that unless they are developed in conjunction with the main game. You'll obviously need the other VAs present to fully integrate them into the experience vs. an afterthought where the companion only speaks to the PC, says generic lines over and over, and/or is only available for the x hours of the DLC.

So.. I'm okay with it if the companion was, from the start, envisioned as part of a DLC plan and acts only to enhance but not change anything major vs. something cut out afterwards and packaged as DLC with pieces of the game missing.

Anyway, if there is a DLC companion, I'd also prefer someone new instead of someone we have already met.

"... but that's cause he's a douche." Possibly the best line ever... just saying

I really don't think anyone (Except EA) Wins with DLC characters. Writing a character that has purpose in the narrative and integrates seamlessly requires early consideration and frequent iteration. Unless you've consigned the "DLC Character" to be substandard compared to the original cast, that means at best, you're left with a transparent cash grab.

So if it is truly After-release (Or post-production in the case of the "Certification window" Defense) DLC, we get underdeveloped characters like Zaeed and Kasumi.

If it's a Character built properly in the game but released as DLC, you can't help but feel a little deceived. (Shale and Javik)

That's just the way I see it, and I still bought all of that so I guess I'm a self-condemned hypocrite.
