I'm imagining a fade sequence where everyone gets possessed by song spirits and sings to the PC. To escape the PC must find all the lyrics to his part and perform it. It will happen in a fade opera house. Muhahaha.

Hmm... a fade musical number kinda like that one episode of buffy when they were possesed by a demon who made them all sing and dance all the time.

Depending on how it's done it could be a great adition to the game, but I'm not sure if it should be done "right" or ridiculously wrong.

I say, give it a try BioWare!

I'll get things rolling with a "yes."

This time though, it'd be nice to hear Leliana/Corinne herself sing. No idea how good she is, but if she wants to give it a crack, she has my full support.

indeed - and if we get another bard on for a companion (something that at least i am hoping we will get - chances are not bad, after all bards are most common in Orlais and that's were we will be at least for a part of the game!), he or she (call me "sexist" but i would like another woman-bard, because well i am male (do i need to further justify that?)) should sing and recite stuff frequently (not all the time and not in places one does normally keep silent (churches come to mind - even a non-believer like me does keep quiet in there, when i visit one to admire the art there (the church in my own village is quite beautiful for example - after all we have a large and once very influential and wealthy monastery here!))) and know a lot of tales (and secrets - he/she should have contacts you can use over the course of the game, too and comments like Varric if you bring her along to the courts of nobles - like interceding on your behalf, handling the introductions, lying convincingly for the PC-Character etc.)

greetings LAX

While they're at it, maybe give her one of those fancy Orlesian hairstyles she was talking about. She had her hair plainer when she game to Lothering because Feraldan.

Why should only Leliana sing? Everyone should sing. Especially Flemeth, villain's always have the best and most fabulous songs. And you know, everyone achieves remarkable feats during songs.

I would prefer if they actually took VA who could sing to start with. The main issue with Leliana in DAO, wasn't the singing itself, which fit the character, it was how it was done. Just compare it to ME2 for example.

I only know that Cassandra's VA (Miranda Raison) is a trained singer.

Although, they could always add drinking songs too...

I wouldn't mind it if:

A. The facial animations and lip syncing is better

B. The make an attempt to use a voice that at least sounds similar to Leliana's speaking voice.

I don't really care either way. That scene was ok but the song was weird (who the hell was playing the instruments?!) and so was the animation.

Many singers use a voice that sounds dramatically different than their speaking voice. Several British singers adopt a strong American voice.

I'd be interested to see a second shot at a scene like it, now that facial animation has improved. That was really my only problem with an otherwise beautiful scene, IMO.

That was my only gripe as well. The facial animation was a bit off.

A bit? It was horrible.

Yes, and it should be less weird this time since I suppose facial animations will be improved.

Well I am glad others want this as well.
I don't know if it should be Leilana or Cassandra.
FFVI had the legendary opera house.
Something like that in Orlais would be nice.
But Leilana singing was one of the highlights of DAO imo.

Yes, but only if her singing doesn't look as strange, or sound as strange, or have creepy invisible musicians, then sure. If it is as bizarre as DA:O, just let me walk away. Please.

I am not normally a fan of musicals ... bunches of pirates swinging on the sheets, waving cutlasses, and singing in perfect 4-part harmony does not entertain me as much as other people, but the placement of a very well done song at an emotional point in the story line can be a good thing. In fact, the Leliana cutscene song is one of the things I remember most about DAO. The other thing that sticks in my memory is the confused look on my PC's face when given that strange machine in the bordello house. BioWare wisely avoided song at that point.

I liked it the first time. I thought the song was gorgeous and whoever sung it has a marvelous voice. That being said, her lip-synching during the scene read more like Tarzan Boy than an Elven prayer for the dead.

I hope the Orlais cities do have a focus on the arts. I really found it strange that Ferelden had no street troupes performing plays. I also thought it odd that the locals had a sense of humor and a tendency towards brief tales while there seemed only three predominant sources of information: family, neighborhood taverns, and the chantry. Bards are Orlesian, don'tcha know, merchants seemed mostly close-lipped and sailor stories are only along portside cities. There's only limited time to write, but isn't it odd that there wasn't more NPC asides, even street plays and singers?

As to Leliana, I hope her voice actress becomes standard as an Orlesian female voice with variants to her accent, younger, masculine, and elderly played by other voice actors. Leliana herself needn't reoccur throughout future Dragon Age games and I hope she does go away soon only because I believe more captivating characters can be structured.

I thought the scene was just pure nonsense, but sure, if that's what people want to see?

We can find out if Cassandra sings.
Spice up that drafty old castle.
I think Leliana gives your warden a look after the song is over.
I think she's trying to seduce the warden, which always succeeds in my case.
rotfl.
So if she sings again she needs another purpose for doing so.

I love leliana. And my warden loves her more. But I have to say no.

Leliana singing was one of the most awkward moments in Dragon Age. In my opinion.

I remember pressing the mute button. XD
