PeeSea Mustard Haxor race has just given up the illusion of not cheating and is now just trying to justify that they only cheated a little bit so it's ok?

I'm also curious about your definition of cheating.

Deerber aspect ratio pls
... trying to watch, but the AV nerd in me demands you fix the aspect ratio. Go your youtube video manager, click edit (for this video) and at the bottom where it says tags, type in "yt:stretch=4:3" (without the quotes and no spaces), then enter and save changes - pls!!! LOL I'm pretty sure you have a 4:3 monitor - dunno what you did for this upload but I'd much rather see it in it's native aspect ratio... the stretch makes me a little woozy :P

I hope this inspires more people to do no rocket solos. I know I'm gonna do a couple of these in the next few days.

Altering the game from its original and intended state in a way that is advantageous to the player.

Not the first time you say that, sadly, and you're not the only one. I was chatting with Caineighis pls before about this, and he told me that I'm right at recording on 16:9? Don't know.

Anyway, I did as you asked. Is it better now? If it is, I'm gonna do it for the other vids that you complained about too ;)

Which original state? The PC one, or the console one?

Disclaimer: this solo was done with a hacked coalesced that forces all objectives to be pizzas or escorts. You don't believe that's the only thing I modified in my coalesced? Your problem, not mine.

:o

This will make me come back to game.

I stopped playing basically for getting devices on solos.:wizard:

How is eliminating certain objectives advantageous to the player?

edit: actually, nevermind, I don't even agree with the definition.

If it read "Altering the game from its original and intended state in a way that is advantageous to the player because it puts the opponents at a disadvantage" I would, sort of, have agreed (because this doesn't cover credit glitching).

It is advantageous in the sense that it makes me save time.

It is not, however, advantageous in the sense that it makes me do something I wouldn't be able to do if I didn't hack, provided I had enough time.

That should be clear. And it also appears to be the line between cheating and not, for me. Surely it is a personal opinion, so you people are free to disagree :)

Bear in mind I don't really think this is cheating and I wouldn't care even if it was but it's clearly beneficial to the player. Just look at all the complaints about 4 devices on solos around BSN.

From the looks of it, several people here admit to ragequitting when devices pop up, so why not just cut out the middleman? I admit it's something of a grey area, but in my opinion this is not as bad as making your weapon deal over 9000 damage.

Actually is not cheating because it doesn't give you real advantage.

He just modify the change to get certain objective to be able to get a faster time soloing, but he doesn't change the IA, weapon damage, power damage or any other stuff of the game.

There's a difference between outright cheating and exploitation.

And clearly removing objectives you find to be more difficult makes it easier for you because you no longer have to risk doing them.

Before, when the game wasn't old and extremely easy and before we get new shiny objective I did solo with every character in the game, and I didn't mind objective because it was to prove myself to be able to do something.

but then things changed, i didn't need to prove anything to myself, so making a solo that lasted more than 25-30 minutes was completely out of mind and then was when it turned to be that Devices = ragequit the game.

Basically, you have two kinds of cheating here:

1) Outside the matches (mainly credit glitching)
2) Inside the matches (creating a disadvantage for opponents, AI enemies in this case)

Putting yourself at an advantageous position in this game is always done at the expense of the opponents. When you change objectives, the opponents are not unintendedly in a disadvantegous position.

Saying "removing certain objectives for soling is cheating because it puts you in an advantageous position" is akin to saying that you're cheating because you're using Black Widow as opposed to someone else who's using Mantis, because you're putting yourself in an advantageous position.

Yes better - PHEW! I only think I complained before, or joked about you having a 4:3 monitor still LAWL. And no, you do NOT record in 16:9 when your display is set to 4:3. Please consult me for further video inquiries. I'm sure cainooghus knows a little bit about how HE records. I went to film school, so I get picky about these things if they aren't done correctly :D

I should add - nice time for using a different set up. Sirian did a ~16 minute nova guard with Talon and no AC, but pretty sure he used the missiles he had. I think you could definitely get this under 20 if you wanted, especially with dem choice objectives ;)

Of course it's a real advantage RJ, otherwise no-one would do it. Like Deerber wrote earlier it saves a lot of time grinding for good objectives, plus you won't waste consumables on runs that failed due to bad objective waves.

This kind of hack doesn't bother me but trying to say it gives no advantage is just daft.

Console solos have never been considered the same as PC solos, due to many other factors; shorter load times being just one of them.

If PC players as a collective want to remove RNG from objective waves, to compete to get the best time, then that is their choice. It is not "cheating" as it merely creates the ideal speed running environment, with fast objectives. PC players are all free to do this, ergo PC speed runners can all make use of this.

Providing you are not altering any criteria which would not be possible under usual circumstances, I fail to see the issue with it. It's entirely possible to get triple pizzas and triple escorts, just unlikely. Removing this RNG allows PC players to have fun and compete against each other's times.

It's a fine line personally I don't like games being "speedrun" using glitches / scrips / trainers (see any Quake or Zelda single player speed run ever...) as what you are achieving is not theoretically possible under normal circumstances... getting triple escorts and pizzas are all possible under normal circumstances, just unlikely.

Next, you'll be calling me a cheater for owning a PC that allows me to play easily 120fps, and modding my AI so the game is HARDER as the AI kills me faster...

There's a line between modding and cheating, and console players in their hubris can rarely distinguish it.
