Merrill, Isabela, Anders and Fenris could be banged by both genders, Seb could only be romanced by females. There's a preference, clearly no one gives a flying crap though.

yes this one chaste romance in one singular dlc turns the preference towards women

how the tides have turned

He's not chaste if you rival romance him, if you don't know what you are talking about, don't try to.

You get a chaste marraige if you rival romance him no? If you do sleep with him it's completely off screen and remarked upon...when exactly? In DLC?

Wait, he can't slept with period right?

I'm looking at the wiki. If you friend him you get a "chaste marriage" so no sex I'm guessing. If you rival him he says he'll marry you and leave the chantry.

I'm guessing you don't actually get laid til after the game is over and he's left the chantry. So yeah...waiting 3+ years to get some. GG. Edit: I don't think he'll actually romance *edit meant sleep with you til he's gotten his kingdom back. Goddamn. Hawke's gotta wait ahead of her. :o

Objectively speaking, straight female characters DID have more options in DA2. That's not speaking subjectively about the quality of those LI's, but the point of the thread is simply the ratio.

In DA: O
Straight males - 2 LI's
Straight females - 2 LI's
Gay males - 1 LI
Gay females - 1 LI

In DA 2:
Straight males - 2 LI's
Straight females - 3 LI's
Gay males - 2 LI's
Gay females - 2 LI's.

So up to this point:
Straight males - 4 LI's
Straight females - 5 LI's
Gay males - 3 LI's
Gay females - 3 LI's

Objectively speaking, of course.

Bisexuals gets 4 love interests in DA2. Female bisexuals gets 5 if you count Seb.

Counting Seb is kind of like counting Allers as a LI though. You can count it but...do you even get an achievement for romancing him?

But see, it's fine because it's female, not male.

Yes. You get an achievement for completing 1 romance. If that romance is Seb, then you get it for him.

This thread proves why we can't have nice things in our romances. Most everyone is an opinionated douche, who wants everything, and only knows how to argue when things don't go their way. Thus, BioWare just gave up and made everyone bi 'cept Sebastian (who is the one bright spot in the DA2 romances... ironically, I never romanced him). If BioWare had their way, we might actually get some decent choices for romances. But no, instead we get the same equality crap.

What is the point of equality, is everyone is the same? May as well make all the romance-capable characters be bisexual humans. How can we have equality, if everyone/thing is the same? This is why I am not too fond of inter-racial offspring IRL, but that is entirely off-topic.

We can't have everything, which is why in many games, it is better to specialise in one area, rather than trying to do every possible combat style. If romances were specific, the game would be better for it.

Not really. Seb was a companion cut to be dlc, his romance was just diffrent. You still had alot of flirting with him, two romance paths which ended up diffrnetly. Just because he's dlc or the sex scene is not showen means very very little.

Pretty much. The romances went from being some extra to BSN having it's cult of the romance expect 1:1 ratios of sexuality and gender. Reason? "Fairness", which really isn't a reason for anything, and definitely not something that will have any positive impact on the quality of a game. But if you don't worship at the alter of "fairness" you're privileged and thus your opinion is invalid.

Add in some self-pity about how the video game industry is so bigoted, rinse, and repeat.

Not according to the wiki. Edit: wait read it wrong. That's what I get for relying on Ign.

He still feels Allerish to me.

Seb has plenty of flaws compared to the actual main LIs.

- No love scene
- No comfort scene after All that remains
- You get him later than you get any other LI
- He has no conflict with other LIs because his romance refuses to start if you flirt with someone else

Does Hawke's mother even mention him?
