OT: ME4 should happen 100 years after ME3, with destroy being cannon, Geth were not killed, Peace on rannoch, and genophage cured.

If they decide to roll with a sequel, this would be the easiest way.

the best way as well. Canonizing Control or synthesis will ****** the fanbase off even more than it already is now

the BSN highly underestimates the amount of people that choose Synthesis.

Whatever new Mass Effect game that gets made should not acknowledge the previous trilogy at all. It should be a totally different story with zero connection to anyone's canon.

Canonize nothing. Keep the setting, the races, classes, and so on, and leave all the baggage behind. Tabula Rasa.

I could live with that. Introduce a entirely new cast of characters, and give us a new iconic ship.

that can work and probability for the best.

really? Conspiracies, revenge tales, redemption stories. Any number of narratives is possible without Reaper involvement. Basically you're saying that you want Bioware to do another Galactic War in which all existence is at stake, while we play as the anointed savior of the galaxy, once again? No thanks.

If anything, the atmosphere will be better than ever if we're able to move along at our own pace whilst immersing ourselves in the the game world without the sense of urgency to get to the next major plot development. You see it all the time, people complaining that ME3 pushed them along without giving them any freedom to take a breath, relax, and enjoy the world.

Did I ever say that? No. I just think, that a game based on any of the concepts you listed would be horribly dull and stereotypical. It would basically result in a second DA2.

The best option imo would be something in a similar fashion to ME2. Sure, we could have revenge tales and conspiracies involved, but as a side factor and not the main plotline.

Perhaps, but we've never seen the stats. Depending on how you interpret the infographic, that is.

Close to a dealbreaker for me, and awfully craven for Bioware.. But not inconceivable.

I'd be fine with a reboot too, but I just think there are unanswered questions in the current storyline, and if Mac Walters is still around, I'd like him to flesh some of the ideas he left. He did Arrival and ME3 alike, and yet they don't touch upon the other much. I still believe he's talented and could say more rather than leave us with "speculations". I can move on, but it's kind of a shame if this is it.

Any questions left unanswered at this point probably aren't going to be answered beyond "Cerberus did it.  With lots of resources"

I hope not. Not sure what's up with him lately, but I believe he's capable of more than the above.

Hell, Zaeed's "YEAH!" whilst throwing Inferno Grenades is better writing than what I've heard of those comics. I'm totally serious too.. the guy was capable of creating great stuff even in the smallest details. People love Garrus so much, and he barely says ****.

I'm going to take a wild guess that the superficial aspects of synthesis alone make it defunct for a sequel. And really, there's nothing to gain from synthesis in and of itself anyway. It's just a way to keep the geth and EDI around, but it's no more meaningful than control in that respect.

The easiest way to validate everyone? Have everything appear except for the Reapers and never definitively mention the events of the ending. Then people can fill in the blanks for themselves. Krogan can still survive without the genophage cure, quarians/geth could have escaped the genocide on Rannoch, geth avoided/survived/were rebuilt after the Destroy beam, Reapers left the galaxy after Control/Synthesis.

So basically water down everything to the point of making the entire trilogy meaningless.

^ By that standard, what would make the trilogy meaningful? Thanks to next-gen consoles, it's unlikely that save imports will be used, so I guess all that's left is to remember our fond experiences with the old trilogy and move onto newer and better things, right? You know, just like with every other piece of worthwhile entertainment ever?

Lets me say it differently, why follow the ME trilogy story if pretty much everything that happened can be hand waved?

Because not everything can. You have the experiences yourself, so you know how everything happened and that Commander Shepard saved the galaxy in all bar a few stuff-up endings that don't matter like low-EMS Destroy or Refuse.

Either way, we still need another sci-fi RPG with the new hardware. I'd love to see an already established setting like Mass Effect make an appearance (and I'm guessing it will), and not just rely on my "memories" for all the good times it offered. Screw memories. Games/movies aren't fit for "good times". They're not like real experiences that stick with us. You got to keep up the momentum when it comes to entertainment. At least for me, that is. Seems like real experiences imprint on my brain differently, for some reason.

My problem is that what you are suggesting is for the most part rendering this experience meaningless by playing it down.
for example:a person who pick synthesis was willing to give the life of his own character to achieve peace,by saying that either synthesis wore off or had a lesser effect then the player expected you change the players noble sacrifice into a stupid and avoidable suicide.

But it wasn't in vain because it saved the galaxy. The same goes for the other two. The idea is that we don't confirm any one ending as canon, because then people are being marginalised.

The only ones that are invalidated would be people who picked an option specifically because they wanted a species totally wiped out. If this forum has taught me anything, it's that the people who make those sort of choices are insufferable weirdos, so I have no problem whatsoever with invalidating their choices.

I think someone has already asked Bioware if they make a new game they will have to canon one of the endings and Bioware said the next game isn't going to be called Mass Effect 4 and won't be about Shepard. So it sounds like they might not do anything will the endings. I would like some news in regard to this cause if the game is set after the events of ME3 you have to do something with the ending.

If the game isn't set after ME3 your just gonna get a lot of people saying what's the point if we know how it all ends anyway. Idc what Bioware does with ME people are gonna bring the ending into it one way or another. I personally feel they might as well set the game after ME3 and get the whole ending thing over with.

Also if they make a ending canon then that will just upset more people cause they will feel all they did in the first 3 games was in vain cause their choice ending isn't canon.

Haha..

I'd say the people who strongly defend them might qualify, but not necessarily the ones who pick it. Synthesis for example sort of has an appeal just for being the "middle option". It might not even be a strong inclination toward the idea, but a person might be more comfortable with the idea of balance and uniformity (I do. Although I prefer Destroy in the end).

Shepalyst:Eternal.infinte.immoral.
The man i was used these words, but only now do i understand them.
And only now do i understand the full extent of his sacrifce.
Through his death i was created.Through my birth, his thoughts are freed.they will guide me now.
                  give me  reason,direction.
Just as he gave directions to the ones who followed him,the ones who helped him achive his purpose.
                  now my purpose.
To give the many hope for a future.
To ensure that all have a voice in their future.
The man i was knew he could only achieve this by becoming something greater.
There is power in control.the is wisdom by harrnessing the strangths of your enemy.
I will rebuild what the many have lost.
I will creat a future with limitless possibilities.
I will protect and sustain.i will act as a guardian for the many.
And through out it all,i will never forget.
I will remember the ones who sacrificed themselves so that the many could survive....
Pfft just kidding, you are on your own b**ches.*disapears into darkspace for no apreant reason*

Yeah this doesn't invalidate control at all.
Pick one canon and stick to it,or start fresh and avoid all this shapless baggage.
