Since default male hawke was on the cover of DA2 I think that it's important that they have a female on the cover. Due to the impression they gave people that Hawke was male. It would right the wrong impression that they gave. Balancing the universal forces in one epic move. :)

A female rogue PoC would be cool.

I'd like the box art to follow Origins and Awakening's style. That way when I put the boxes side by side, it fills out a larger picture.

I thought that was probably the coolest thing about the box art in Dragon Age.

I think it would be cool if the box art was done in the style of the loading screens from DAII.

The best solution is for Bioware to put whatever they feel like on the box cover and ignore every single person that posted in this thread me included.

My point wasn't that It was sexist or racist not to have these things. I just meant it would be nice if the default didn't always have to be a white man.

It would just be nice to see the other gender and other ethnic groups getting a bit of attention and it would make me feel like maybe the majority of gamers really aren't as shallow and silly as we think they are.

I certainly wasn't saying that anyone is a member of some privileged class or anything silly like that.

Are Asians whites?

Don't care, use morrigan, with cassandra and varric on either side of her.

Eh, just do the inquisitor symbol. Putting someone of a specific ethnicity/gender may just stirr the pot for various people. A symbol will bypass it fully.

They still have to market the PC.

I can't imagine a world where this would happen. I'd like to live in it, though.

I don't get how this is such an issue for game developers.

Either don't show the protagonist at all, or show the protagonist fully armored/hooded, so that it could be either. Avoids the issue of having some protagonist appear to be more canon.

Undefined of not show the inquisitor at all. Since the inquisitor can be either gender and any of four races it makes more sense. I'm also pretty tired of covers with the default white male warrior with the beard stubble shadow, or even the hooded/armored figure. Very unoriginal and it's been done to death.

Stick Morrigan and a plate mailed Inquisitor on the cover. There, we're done.

They should go for Rear View and invite Mr.Putin as a cover artist!... 8E

Seriously - I think cover with no hero at all can be cool. May be, something resembling an old book, with those classy illustrations?.. If it looks really good, I may even consider buying a box instead of digital.

But, I'm afraid we will get a man wearing helmet ( or hood). Probably, with a female alternative (like ME3 did).

Yeah, the above image. Skyrim has sold millions without taking the "Badass Male/Female" direction(though some of the marketing did involve that).

I'd rather have something symbolic of the inquisition than another Chin Down, Eyes Up scenario.

Just show a bunch of dwarves of both genders doing ridiculously manly things and it'll be an instant success.

It'd work on me.

It's a bit odd. On the one hand BW games allow female PCs and same sex romances for years now, but on the other hand they hide that like the plague in marketing. The only times they are willing to discuss that is with material intended for or media familiar to the fans. Which of course is preaching to the choir and that won't get you any new fans.

I can only think of three game covers with WoC gracing the box art: Mirror's Edge, Assassin's Creed: Liberation, and Beyond Good and Evil.

I can think of two good reasons ...:?
