A nice logo with a dragon and/or the veil rip. Not too unlike the logos for DA:O and Awakening.

Both of those featured a male warrior too however.

How do you know that, it could've been a women under all that armor. If I remember correctly Origins also had Morrigan and awekening had The Architect. Dragon Age 2 had the male default Hawke.

It is the same Warden as in the cinematic trailers for DA:O. His armor, sword and shield are identical.

Having identical armor is not quite the same as being the same person. That's not to say that the idividual on the cover isn't the male warden from the trailer, but it could just as well be some other female warden, it's ambiguous unless someone from Bioware says it's either or.

How come nobody made a big ****ing stink about the warden having a preset face?

I think it is because the trailers for different Origins showed different protagonists (even a female, gosh!), so the one in the cinematics didn't monopolize the marketing.

Just my theory ^_^.

There's no female representation in video games!!!

Maybe the lesser representation isn't neccesarily a bad thing and BSN are oversimplyfying as usual? Plenty of them in puzzle games, adventure games, and generally ones that aren't based solely on death and destruction. If women want to be on the cover of third and first person shooters, they should start shooting people and join the army irl.

Er, what ?

Someone wants a fictional character to be on the cover of third person shooter = they should join the military in the real life.

Does not compute.

I said "Someone"  because, there are quite a few men who would like to see women on the cover of a TPS game.

Yup.  DA:O's marketing and box art were great.  If I wanted a poster with a female version of the Warden, that was available, as well as several origin trailers that had female characters.  The CGI trailer having the generic Human Male White Dude was no big deal, with all those other representations of alternate Wardens.

There's no context for that, so non-fans will think the game is about a race of dragon people.

That may or may not appeal to them.

He probably meant in active combat roles. Which in many militaries simply doesn't happen.

They should do what they did with KoTOR and have the main characters except the protagonist on the box art.

I want to see a black, female with white hair - covered in war paint - wielding a blood-drenched sword. This would be badass. Everyone would love it. Everyone.

Well in the USA there was a ban lifted, finally allowing women in active combat - so it wasn't their fault to begin with, and they're in active combat *now* so...this argument (if coming from an American) is moot.
