While poisons and runes can be useful, I'm more interested in weapon and armor improvement.

Yep creating and improving weapons sounds awesome and it shoule mean we don't have to give up our favorite weapons just cause there are better ones.

Ha. If that cowboy looking armor (the one with 'dat hat') makes it into the game, at least one of my Inquisitors is never going to wear anything else.

Lady Insanity came out with a video that discusses crafting quite a bit.
Says she went to the Bioware DAI panels, so check, out her website and blogs.
Love that voice of hers.
Being able to craft your own armor would be nice.
Obviously if there are horses there must be horse armor.
Hope it looks good.

I have yet to play a game with a crafting system that isn't tedious and boring.
If crafting is actually a necessary thing I hope that Bioware is the first game that does it without me wanting to put my head through my monitor.

I'm a fan of crafting and I hope to be able to make useful items that look good, rather than ones that are one or the other. I'm excited to see how the "mod" system works with armor and weapons and whether they are craftable, too, as well as whether there are specializations within crafting or if it's a catch-all system.

Money.
This sounds weird but Dragon Age system has always been built upon a limited money system where you cant buy everything. As a result I wont craft or build anything for 50 silver because its stopping me from getting the 40 Sovereign ring I really want. I always felt crafting, despite how useful it can be, is a money sink. Why invest in a one use item when I can save and buy a expensive item that will be passive and useful in every encounter? !
Unless craft-able items are dropped more regularly, or there is a way I can make money, I get the feeling this is a system I will neglect for a third time.

I hope I don't have to spend 4 hours hunting for crafting components of 19 different types so I can build one unit of armour that will be outpaced in about 2 hrs of gameplay.

I'm a fan of crafting, and I'm just hoping to be able make things myself and preferably on the go. I don't even consider and NPC making something for me crafting to begin with.
Improving weapons would be nice, making them better, but I'm not holding my breath for that one.

I'm hoping that the crafting material aren't scattered in gazillions of missions which can never be accessed again after you've done them once and some that aren't even accessible if you kick certain companions out. *Cough* DA2 *Cough*

Meh. I just hope it's not a necessity. Never really got into crafting in games; if I wanna craft something I'll grab some tools and build a table. That wobbles.<blink> I digress. But for ya'll who like crafting, I hope it's a good system. Maybe where you can actually alter the looks of armor/equipment.

Also you should be able to make some items (potions, coatings, traps) for less than the cost it takes to buy them. If you gather the ingredients yourself you should be able to make items and no cost period.
