although this why I agree with the theory that originally the inquisitor was supposed to be Hawke.

Why not? That's how most things get started. Get enough guys to swear fealty and you can say "I am the King", wear a cowl and beat up some bad guys - "I'm Batman".a7rivera wrote...
I doubt it will be as simple as donning an heralded armor and announcing to Thedas " I am the inquisitor".

Sorry feeling a bit silly. I am interested to see how it all works out. Hawke and the Warden both just sort of stumbled and fell into their roles by default. It'd be nice if there was a bit more to it this time.

"Guys! There's a tear in the--" (Go away we're hunting mages)
"Help! The Veil is--" [Go away we're summoning demons to kill templars]
"We have to do something about'' {Go away we're busy hiding in the church pretending this war isn't happening}

Complete a few missions, close a veil tear or two, and people will look to you while the Chantry, Templars, mages, and nations all squabble amongst themselves.

That makes sense. The title would be earned not given.

Until a couple of demons who were up to no good, started making trouble in your neighborhood.

And the antagonist is a balding man called Rogaine.SergeantSnookie wrote...
He'll/she'll meet a man named Zuncan who recruits him/her, and then after pairing you up with another Inquisitor named Ilistair, Zuncan will die, and you'll become the leader.

Now, I know it's been said that the Inquisition has no link to the Chantry, so although it seems like a reasonable way to go about this, I'm not really buying it right now.

Basically its Harry Potter logic.

This. I know we probably start out in Ferelden, like Denerim, based on what one of the devs said before, and move toward Orlais, where the veil is probably torn. So maybe there will be some huge deal that takes us there, and once there chaos ensues and our PC becomes the "chosen one". I hope this isn't it, but right now, it seems like one of the most probable theories I've heard so far.
I sincerely hope there's more to how we become the Inquisitor than chance.
