He'll/she'll meet a man named Zuncan who recruits him/her, and then after pairing you up with another Inquisitor named Ilistair, Zuncan will die, and you'll become the leader.

And the antagonist is a balding man called Rogaine.

Who has a daughter named Menora.

Send in resume with previous inquisitive experience. Show up for an interview, do well. Agree to begin in a starting position.

Hmm part of the reason is because of what we saw and the fact we were the only survivor for whatever reason and the events that took place after that.

If that concept art called the coronation is close to what happens then the Seekers and the Chantry turn over all the power to you though they have an interest in your faction which could explain why Cassandra is a companion and what say Leliana might have.

If that was the case wouldn't it make more sense for Cassandra or Leliana to be the protagonist since they're already hands of the divine

Perhaps the Inquisitor is initially just a figurehead for the Seekers, as the sole survivor of the Veil Tear, only to eventually strike out on their own and prove a capable leader in their own right?

Or maybe that's just the plot of Captain America?

Of course, we should remember that the Warden started out as the new meat and merely one of two surviving members from Ostagar, with the Ancient Treaties actually being recognised as having more authority and providing a firm reason why people should lend aid to their cause. Yet, by the end of the game, the Warden earned more than enough prestige to be considered one of the main commanders of the entire Ferelden army.

so far the theory of being a former seeker makes the most sense. As for the warden, the order wasn't extinct, just the chapter or group based in Ferelden so it's not like the warden was alone. I'm curious to see revive an order that nobody has been a part of for over thousand years without  a senior/mentor figure like Duncan to conscript you

Chaos gives you opportunities you wouldn't have otherwise, only a little opportunism and an inspiring personality can go a long way in troubled times.

Other than potentially forcibly kidnapping you, it's not like Duncan actually did anything useful. And if his interaction with Cailan/Loghain is any indication, he came from the Riordan school of less than brilliant tactics.

Not really they would  be giving the inquisitor the authority to stand alone and technically investigate everyone freely including the Chantry, Templars, Seekers which makes them resent you since well they can't really stop you unless they say no you can just siege them. In the chantrys case some church officials aren't exactly thrilled you can look into their shady dealings according to the game informer cover story.

Part of the reason why they chose you was that you were at ground zero and witnessed the entire event saw everything that caused it, but no one knows if you had a role in it or not.

So they task you with hunting the one responsible for the veil tear no matter what as long as you stop the antagonist by ANY means necessary murder, blackmail, sieging fortresses, making alliances etc, another part might be what happens afterwards in battle before you get made the inquisitor

Also the original Inquisition was spilt apart and dissolved into the Seekers, and Templars organizations so wouldn't it make sense that they would be involved in handing over the mantle of the inquisitor over to us and probably a small group of soldiers to get you started or they most likely violnter after our inquisitor kicks some demon ass and saves people on the battlefield but we are in charge of building it and making it even stronger a number of ways, like bioware said it's our choice which groups to help.

Wanna destroy the chantry and uncover all their secret dealings then you can, want to be anti Mage and persecute them then your free to do so, want to destroy and investigate the Templars then you can, Anti Mage Anti Chantry Anti Templar, Anti chantry and Templar but Pro Mage, Pro Chantry and Templar Anti Mage etc then you can do so.

I know it's not gonna happen because DG apparently hates the joke.

But I'd love for the PC to be reading a book on the original inquisition, put it down, and say "Nobody's going to expect this."

Maybe it could be based off of background? You're an ex-Seeker/Templar/Circle Mage/Ben-Hassrath agent if human or city elf. Qunari could be limited to Tal-Vashoth or Ben-Hassrath agent for a background.

The dwarven Inquisitor's surname in the PAX demo was Cadash, which just so happens to be the name of the house that Shale served as a warrior before she was turned into a golem. The only question though is how anyone with the surname Cadash is still around thousands of years after their thaig was destroyed?

After thinking this over with a few bottles i have concluded that the best possible answer for picking a grand inquisitor will be....a pants off dance off

i wouldn't shoot that down just yet. The Dragon Age series has had their fair share of Easter eggs and pop culture references.

I don't have a subscription to gameinformer but did the article mention anything else that hasn't already been confirmed?

I'm unsure about all the details but I know for a certain it involved a talking cat and a transformation brooch.

The Maker dictates it. "So yeah, you're the only one who hasn't been slaughtered and I'm kinda busy with my lady Andraste. Do you mind investigating this s***, man? My hands are tied here."

Well, Gaider straight up said that he was sick of the joke "before [they] even started writing", and that the chances of it making it into the game were slim to none.

I don't know if it's as simple as he will not put it in any dialogue he personally writes or if he'd go so far as to veto it if one of the other writers slipped it in, but I'm not holding out any hope of it making it.

For some reason, the first thought that comes to my mind is finding an artifact, a sword.
As if someone found Excalibur and founded the Round Table again.

Using my Magic 8-ball, you will be plunged into a devastating battle with monsters pouring out from the sky, swirling your life out of balance. You'll conveniently meet up with two companions to help fight them, with great romantic prowess. And finally, you're ceremoniously slapped into the elite rank of inquisitor by helping your waifu(s), as you'll then be given grand adventures full of huge explosions and partial nudity(or a fade to black).

Unfortunately, this is not my joke answer.

not to de-rail the topic but in BW defense this sort of story telling has been going on sense the days of ancient greece so it getting close to be "old as dirt"

as for why "you" where picked, maybe they figure that your there best hope "Maker help us"

maybe you gave a great speech and inspired them to join you and thus mad you there leader...

or your just a crazy person calling himself an Inquistor with no backing whatsoever. "Mailman" movie type thing
