Having soloed with sabotage some time ago:
In a bronze solo, no problem.
I found if the target is pair of banshees as you would encounter in a gold solo, no, there is not enough time for sabotage only to take out the target while dealing with her "sister" and the rest of the mob.
Or at least, not enough time for a scrub like me.

I doubt you could solo gold on targets with it fast enough but a full team takes down a Banshee faster than you would think with Sabotage. Before it was nerfed when tech vulnerability stacked exponentially you could just destroy the Rippaz with it.

IDK it's better in a way but I like the explosive hack versus geth as well. Sabotage, headshot, boom. The actual sabotage part of it though to take control I just use to buy me some breathing room every once in a while. If you can sabotage a bomber early in a spawn it wrecks, if you can sabotage a pyro, or rocket trooper, they're pretty decent as well. Turrets are pretty good as well. It's no where near as good though as it used to be where you could sabotage two targets and have the rest of the enemies on the field eventually turn on them and attack them.
