The subject.....

I am finally back from a needed break and figured I would try out some of the solo challenges....Geez! Three Platinum solo attempts failed because the Geth Hunter that I would kill would be immediately spawned right behind me. LITERALLY BEHIND ME or RIGHT NEXT TO ME. Its sooooo frustrating and it makes no sense.

Seriously. Take notes. Next ME Multiplayer...no stupid spawning mechanism that spawns the enemy right behind the player...its ridiculous.

OK....rant over......needed to get that one out....oh yeah...topic discussion...ummm

EDIT and EXAMPLE ADDED:
Since I keep getting these informative line of sight comments (which is cool I know youre trying to be helpful) I decided to add this specific section of one of my flawless platinum solo's where the enemy...just keeps spawning RIGHT IN FRONT of me. Yeah.......line of sight alright.

lol...no...you dont understand. I killed an enemy....turned around and the new one spawned there. I killed another and he spawned right next to me. I killed another and yadi yadi ya. I have videos showing enemies even spawning multiple times right in front of me which makes no sense either. The ones in front are advantageous but the ones directly behind you for whatever reason......just isnt fair.:unsure:

Indeed it has. I nearly soiled myself earlier this evening when an angry space crab popped into existence right behind me, IN A DEAD-END CORRIDOR. There's got to be a secret door or something.

We are seeing the frustration here Invaderone. But I'm sure that actually you agree that a behind spawning is a lot more logical than an in front spawning...

ummmm, don't rush head on into a spawn?

But, I do agree that if someone is in a spawn it should prevent further enemies from spawning there.

It reminds me of trying to take a flag in BF3. You get in the cap radius, kill a couple of guys only to have them respawn behind you and kill you.

No I never rush the spawns when going for a flawless solo. It just happened to me a fourth time. Flawless till wave 7 and after I killed a Geth Hunter a new one immediately respawned behind me. I am keeping clips of these as they keep messing up flawless attempts. Its ridiculous. It happens with the ther factions too but when its a Geth Hunter and your character has less than 900 shields/health it mappers if a Geth Hunter respawns behind you.

Thanks. Miss you Kat. I had taken two weeks off. It was my birthday the last week of August and the last week I had been prepping for my new job. I'll catch you on some games soon. I have a few ME3 duo ideas too to get done after I finish Splinter Cell.

Are we talking the left side of Jade? (from spawn) That is the only place that I can think of, off the top of my head that makes enemies spawn behind me. But then it isn't directly behind me.

I don't solo nearly as much as you do. Maybe I just haven't run across it before, on the other hand though if it has happened to you multiple times in the same day, I am not sure what is going on.

I seem to remember reading that the devs said enemies have to spawn out of LoS. Not 100% on this, though. Maybe it means in the players LoS, not the enemies LoS. Essentially allowing enemies to spawn behind us, but not infront of us. If that is the case, making it so enemies can't see the player when they spawn and players can't see where the enemies spawn. 'Should' be a fix, in theory anyway, making it so a line cannot be drawn between an enemy when they spawn and the player.

It happens when the team is spread across the map.

How else is the spawn to work? Should the game just wait until players move?
Could lead to some long pauses while the AI woks out where to spawn.

^bingo. This plus its tendency to use the same spawn spot until 5 enemies have spawned means you're getting ganked if you rush into a fresh spawn before it has fully spawned all 5. As you go towards the spawn spot, you're supressing it until you enter the spot itself and then the area behind you is considered fine for spawning.

Solution is to move out to the spawn spot's edge or at the very least check around to see 5 have been killed (not applicable late wave where budget is down or where more than 3 enemies are already on the map). From what i have seen, smoke from grenades and explosions are considerd sight blocking and you can see stuff spawn in front of you when that happens.

Also from the bin file, there is a variable called spawn delay which i am guessing is a period from the game deciding to spawn enemy X to the actual figure appearing. If you're turning around, it seems like the enemy gets spawned in from of you but it was already decided moments ago that it would spawn there.

It has happened to me more than I care to mention.  I'm not sure what's worse, the peoples elbow or just being husked.  One hurts your chin, the other your pride.

This spawn issues happen only when the team is too spread, to the point where the game just can't found a place to make the spawn, and in solo matches. Solo ended being a way people play this game, even recognized when the challenges was added, but it wasn't build with solo in mind, that's why this kind of issues happen. For now, deal with it, that's the challenge of doing solo in ME3, to play alone a game that was created with 4 players in mind.

What they should do in the next ME, since people like to do solo, is add a solo mode, allowing players to play alone in the MP environment, but with everything adapted to make the solo experience something more pleasant and without this kind of issues.

Where is that video of someone soloing Goddess and having an Atlas first spawn on *top of his head* and then sync kill him? Now THAT is ridiculous.

Apparently up is out of LOS.

Normally I am ok with it as I can usually survive it but as most people here (going from the comments) are assuming, I am not not rushing a spawn. This has happened to me in the middle of the wave where I would kill one lone single enemy and the enemy would re spawn on the spawn spot that I am standing on or immediately in front of. But maybe you're right....on a solo kiting is for scrubs and cannot be a useful means to complete a platinum solo at all B)

lol yeah I should've saved that one. I have a few solo vids with the situation I explain here happening but I'd have to go through them just to get the time stamp on them and I'm just not up to doing all that right now.
