As for DR, it was added in pretty late development's stage as a chance to let players save their PC. Or so I hear.
I don't want to believe that however considering how all the other choices are structured in the game I wouldn't put it past them.

Yeah, I was doing my own research last night and found that out myself. That would explain why the kickass armor and sword he wielded weren't in game either. Still, despite the fact that it was made by a different studio it seems like Bioware really liked that armor design and opted to make their own version.RazorrX wrote...
The warden in the cinematic trailers was the creation of blur studios. note that the game did not have the hair style nor that tattoo without being modded.
I guess you could say that he was blur studios' cannon story, not biowares.
I am glad that Bioware chose a non human for the 'alternate' or book cannon.

I agree, doesn't seem fair that all those the Darkspawn have to fight that one single Grey Warden.Calob wrote...
I liked him and wish I could of use that tattoo and hairstyle for my warden. My Warden was a Human Male Warrior and he kicked ass. **** the dalish canon.

Though I will say I'm relieved that, for once, it wasn't a human male who was the hero of the story. But that doesn't mean that your Warden couldn't be a human male, or a dwarven female, or whatever.
Bioware having a default that doesn't match yours, doesn't mean they're doing it to spite you.

I know that much dude. No where in my post does it imply or complain as to why they chose one origin over another. <_< I am simply asking why Bioware would have scrapped this guy in favor of using the Dalish origin in their personal canon.mutant_anemone wrote...
I honestly don't understand why people get their panties in a twist over this "Bioware canon1!!" business. It doesn't change the outcome of YOUR game anymore than having multiple playthroughs.

Because he was just there for marketing purposes.
Just look at him. He conforms to the typical cover art dude to a T.
Bioware probably just likes the idea of a Dalish Elf Warden better. They can do whatever they want.

That is actually absolutely fantastic work and an excellent mod idea. A random party banter plays out whenever the player visits a certain area or location in a hand crafted cutscene. It would add so much to the game.

The Dalish Warden is only canon for those who did not play the game. If you played with the M! Cousland, then in your universe, that is canon. Think of everyone's games as alternate universes. The playthroughs for every single person are their own canon.
Bioware's "canon" only goes so far. Some things are only canon for those who didn't play or had their play styles match up with the playthrough that the devs.
The events are set in stone, but who participates in those events will differ based on who survived in your playthrough.
