A race with BC, inferno nades, and LOL lift nades that invented the almighty Claymore should not be taken lightly. I would go into a more elaborate argument but L2P will suffice in this case.

Claymore is actually human designed, if I remember right.

Yes, this is correct.

As for the original topic, they aren't the worst race.  Only the Battlemaster doesn't have a good skill versus bosses, and Warlord is somewhat tricky against some of them, but the others have powers that make short work of any bosses.

You don't have to build most of them for melee.  But even if you do they are more than decent on Gold that way.  The only issue I actually have with Krogan melee is that it isn't the best melee in the game damage wise.

The Claymore was never designed BY Krogan, but it was originally meant FOR Krogan.

It was supposedly designed by humans, but since it was unsafe for human use, they found a market for it among the Krogans.

I would place Krogans above Humans and Salarians . Personal choice based on gameplay.
Almost impossible to be objective on this question.

I can see where the OP is coming from, all the other races have kits they are objectively better than any of the krogans, but krogans in general are all great.

I don't know what you're talking about Biggs, I am talking about an experience totally unrelated to any themed game I may or may not have played with you.

Krolord- Not really a fan but put a Reegar on him and he's almost impossible to kill if someone knows how to play him.
KroSoldier- Best fire explosion soldier in the game.
KroSent- Has something for everything and LOL lift nades.
Kroguard-For a long time had the fastest solo time. May still have it, I'm not sure?

Not sure what the worst race is but it isn't the Krogan. Vorcha would be my pick for one of the more boring races which revolves around a single power.

On gold, yes, by xcal. Had the fastest plat solo time for awhile too but I think alquinn or maybe hendrix holds that now.
