First of all, sorry if this has been asked before. And for my bad English :P

And this thread, as you may expect, contains spoilers from ME1 ending.

I have a ME1 char. I have read that to import a char, you have to choose between your save files(not your profile). The matter is that I have a save BEFORE the last fight. So I haven't decided if I save the Council or not. How will this be solved? Or have I done something wrong? I began a New Game+, and I'm just in Eden Prime. Do I have to choose this save?

Thanks.

The save imported is the one you select on the NG+ menu.

This, there is a hidden save at the end of the game, this is the one you will transfer to ME2.

It's not the saves you personally make in-game. If you go to New Game+, it shows a list of people, right? Well, that list is what you choose from to move over to ME2. Everytime you beat ME1 with a character, that character is added to that NG+ list and is ready for another go in ME1 or a transfer to ME2.

That's what I have gathered though. If I'm wrong, someone will correct me.

When you import a character it will be similar to creating a new character based on an existing ID. When you begin your ME2 game, any characters you have completed the game with will show up based on all the decisions you made in the process. You will not be creating a character based on your specific save point per se, but you will be starting an ME2 character based off a completed game.
