Hey everyone, I need help in deciding on whether I should purchase the Normal Edition or the CE?
I am from Malaysia and luckily, we still have the Terminus Assault Gear + Blackstorm offer for pre orders for both editions. It is valid until 22th January.
Normal edition cost = RM (MYR) 129
CE = RM 209
It is a freaking RM80 bucks more, the currency might be small but 80 is still in my opinion A LOT.
Is it worth getting the CE?
The main reason i am looking to get the CE is the collector armor and assault rifle. Besides that, nothing else is interesting.
Mass Effect 2 Collectors Edition. Worth it?

Well approximately how much is 80 RM in Canadian? The reason I ask is because the CE here is only 10 dollars more and for ten extra dollars that's a good deal (at least to me).
Disregarding that is the collector armor and assault rifle worth 80RM to you?

Think of it this way. Treat the difference of 80 literally.
To you the diff is $10, to me the difference is $80.
1.00 MYR
=
0.307916 CAD
Malaysia Ringgits Canada Dollars
1 MYR = 0.307916 CAD 1 CAD = 3.24764 MYR

I've never really been a fan of Collector's Edition's since I was never really too interested in any game that had them.
But I realized I really love Mass Effect and to me $10 isn't much for a little extra.
Though for your situations.. I'd say it really isn't worth it. Shoot, the Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition was $150, like $90 more and you got Night Vision Goggles. For that much extra you should. But for what Mass Effect 2 CE has.. No.

I'm getting the CE because:
The full version of Mass Effect 2
Bonus in–game Collectors' Edition weapon and armor
48–page hardcover art book
Limited Edition Cerberus Network card granting access to bonus content
Issue #1 of the Mass Effect comic book by Dark Horse comics.
All housed in a premium tin package with exclusive artwork.
not worth an extra $80 at all, I would rather get a new game with ME2, but for $10 more, it's good.
It all comes down to how much do you want to pay? Normal version is still ME2, CE version is just perks, not a different game.

Considering the australian 360 verson from EB games is the equivalent of 370 ringgit, yes. it's worth it.

Try to import from another country. It might be cheaper.

Night Vision Goggles, wow, really? That seems odd to throw in with a game.
Buy the Collector's Edition of Dragon Age 2 and get a real, large, steel shield, specially crafted by real armorsmiths and such, only $500!

Yeah I'm gonna go with save your money and get the standard edition. If the collector armor means that much to you go on some bidding site at release, I'm sure someone will want to turn a quick buck off of this and be selling the armor code. Maybe you'll get lucky.

I made the mistake of getting the DA:O CE, never again will I make that mistake.
It's really just a massive money sink most of that stuff will be available online soon after release, anyway.

I bought DDE from Steam ... but I payed it 60 euros ( 60$=42euros) I lost a lot but at the time it seemed worth the money
But now looking most of the stuff will be avaible online and most of the stuff will be free ... so maybe it was better to go with ordinary version <_<

The DAO stuff is not available legitimately.....what you're doing is the equivalent of pirating on a smaller scale and it's only on PC. That's one of the reasons I will always urge game developers to stop developing for that platform.

Seems like a limited edition that is actually limited as you cannot pre-order it anywhere in the uk now. Glad I ordered mine a couple of days after it was listed.
