The geth also support self determination. Why would they take away EDI's freedom just to impress an organic that they ultimately don't care about. They care about themselves first, but they are not without values.

Ship can be powered down easily, the clone does it.

Nothing about that made sense.

The geth drop said self-determination the moment it becomes inconvenient

It's not inconvenient in this situation.

Power down ship-unplug EDI

Your post was not what didn't make sense.

It's all about control.

If not me then who?

If not you then who... what?

Who will have control? There must always be somebody in control. What would happen if we started thinking for ourselves?

Are you going to Control the Reapers?

None of this matters. Reshackling EDI would've screwed over the Normandy crew. No amount of head-canon is going to get around the fact that EDI is clearly written to be a loyal member of the team.

Nothing makes someone more loyal than being physically incapable of traitorous behaviour

I don't understand the question. It lacks context.

Control is the means to survival, control of the reapers and of you if necessary

The beautiful irony of that statement is that, in the case of EDI, implementing such control would actually allow the enemy to do express treacherous behavior instead. At that point, her loyalty doesn't even matter anymore, because she'd just be a Cerberus tool that f***s up the entire mission.

He's TIM. Everyone who isn't a Paragon drone should recognize this question.

As of ME2 it would make sense to reshackle EDI

Yeah TIM asks that to Shepard if you choose to use the intimidate dialogue, which is much better just to watch TIM get angrier and lose his cool in the end.

All I heard when the Illusive Man was on screen was "Meanwhile, at the Legion of Doom!" I as unimpressed.

What should I do here? I know? Pick upper left, that makes me sound cool and it's the right one.

This can be interpreted as an attack on the Bioware fanbase.  Tread lightly.

You're kidding me now, aren't you?  Let me spell it out for you. I believe the writer follow here an agenda.

Yeah, that's the stating the obvious part. Writers have motives behind what they write, what's so unusual about that?

And you always know what those motives are? I'm not just stating that there are some, I speculate what those might be. You insist on something that is just so incredibly idiotic here.

The Night Mammoth wrote...

I
don't like that. I don't like to be guided and influenced that much.
S'all I'm trying to say here. You can disagree but what you are doing
now is just moronic.

You don't have to like it. You
don't have to be guided, or do what you think the writers want you to
do. Just choose bottom right, or middle right.

You ever had the feeling that the writer might have given you choises, but they actually wanted to guide you smoothly in the right direction? I had several times, especially when it comes to AI's. And while it might not be a problem for you it is one for me and I'm free to make an issue out of it.

EDI would have sacrificed itself if that's what it would have taken, EDI even states so once.

EDI's & the toaster's nonfunctionality was an acceptable loss and their and the Reaper's demise via the Crucible a shining blueprint for organics with regard to threatening sentient machines.

Eh, ME2 TIM mad a lot more sense than ME3 TIM. And I try to have actual conversations beyond, "Up left analogue stick. Square button."
