What assumptions are those? That players within the 'Tali fanbase' tend to dislike Synthetics and believe they aren't alive? Necanor claims that such beliefs are very common. That's a firsthand account.

I'm not that much into science fiction(at least compared to other people here), but I can't generalize. I like AIs in some fictions, I dislike them in others. Mass Effect is one of the others obviously.

Can you elaborate on why you didn't like them? What did EDI do to earn your dislike? What did Legion do?

It's funny how the issue right now is about how EDI (and, by extension, the geth)'s deaths are not "pronounced enough" in Destroy, when this sacrifice is otherwise looked at as: [contrived to make Destroy less attractive.]

So, it's wrong for that sacrifice exist there at all, yet it should have been flaunted anyways?

I'm calling BS. Lord knows if the geth and EDI did indeed have this big, dramatic death-scene, it would be complained about for being OMG-grimdark. You can't win with anti-enders. Everything is too much or too little.

*edit*

This post is not referring to people who genuinely dislike both parties and would actually relish their death, ofc.

While yes, I would have prefered that the relays be rendered completely inoperable in exchange for EDI's and the Geth's death, if we're going to stick with what we have, I would have liked to seen their deaths.  I mean, they make a point of it, why not show it?  Like the scene when Joker is flying away from the beam, make a little scene in there with EDI exploding or something.

Nevermind, three assumptions.

1.That all Tali fans hate the geth, even post ME3.
2.That Tali fans hate the geth even more than normal geth-haters.
3.That Necanor is the supreme authority of Tali fans.

Hannibal showed very much why AIs are dangerous and can't be trusted. The Geth killed hundreds of millions, committed cultural genocide and forced the Quarian exodus.

Never once did I claim 'all Tali fans' dislike Synthetics. Only that they tend to more than other players. I like Tali very much myself.

I don't know where you got #2. That just sounds like made up nonsense to me.

As for #3, is Necanor not a reliable first hand source for this information?

Yeah, that's what I've observed. It doesn't even mean it's true, the original argument was about people hating AIs and I can count a huge amount in the other fanbases as well.

EDI had no part in that, and does nothing but help Shepard. Why do you dislike her?

Hey, David, while you're psychoanalyzing everyone who doesn't like the geth, can you do me?

Get in line. I want to know why he think my neutral engineer Shepard has negative feelings towards synthetics.

Actions speak louder than words, but that doesn't mean that you should forget the things you said.

Didn't say "me", David. I said my neutral engineer Shepard.

Then there's no argument between us. You're just roleplaying. My issue is with players who claim synthetics aren't alive. I don't care what their Shepards think.

I don't like the geth, obviously. I am not a Tali fan. I am not a quarian fan. I think EDI's okay, but invasive, still she's cool. I also thought Legion was okay...for a geth anyway. Yet I still don't think synthetics are alive. Tell me why, oh wise one.

EDI does not represent all Synthetics, she is one AI.

David, you don't look really compelling or authoritative when you make others answer questions they are asking you. You're the analyst here, tell me, Doc. How can we ever get over our geth hate and our prejudice against hypothetical robot men if you never help us understand what the root of it is?

That's what I'm trying to find out. So why don't you answer my question so we can do that? What characteristics of life does EDI not have?

It only takes one example to prove something is possible.

Did anyone else feel bad for Eva Core?

After all if synthetics are alive, she was a prisoner murdered by EDI.

That is a good point. She does not have that. A long with the basics like organs, wants, or needs. True vulnerability, emotional damage. EDI herself only states that she is really alive during Sythesis. I take that as an agreement with my statement that she isn't.

But more important, shouldn't you be asking questions about me? How does asking about EDI analyse my thoughts or feelings.

I did. She was only doing as she was told, and we should never kill POWs.
