Aveline would only be able to defeat a regular templar if he or she was weakened by the taint.

After watching Dawn of the Seeker, I have no doubt that Cassandra would crush Aveline swiftly. Cass is an angry ANGRY woman, fear her wrath!

Let's see, Cassandra can smash steel gates and is trained to find the vitals of her opponent (Nevarran dragon hunter) then there's Aveline who can lift men up into the air, delicately push a dagger into steel plate armor, and is trained as a soldier since her youth (father an ex-Orlesian Chevalier)
hmm, tough call, but I'mma have to go with Cass on this one.

I've seen Aveline attacked by an entire wave of templars, being the only target of a Pride Demon, chewed and spitted by a High Dragon and recieving most of mages/sarebaas attacks... And walking away like nothing happened (She barely lost any health).

I can't imagine of something stronger than her in the DA universe.
