Still very early, but im sure many of you love this series so will be keen to hear.

"Stargate has always had this empty hole. When we made the
first one, we always intended on doing part two and three, and we were
prevented for years. And our hope is that we can get another chance at Stargate and tell the entire story we wanted to tell."

So big plans a foot for Stargate to make a comeback.

With a total reboot, as is the way with everything right now.

Nice, very nice indeed.

I liked SG a lot. Hell, sometimes the repetitive "go on planet, have problem, solve problem, episode end" forumale even got broken by something of an overaching story. It was always fun to watch right up until seasons nine and ten.

SG-A was even better with quite a nice story setting and progression for the first two, maybe even three seasons, though it went to crap after that.

A nice evening filling movie trilogy reboot would be a most welcome thing for my nostalgia.

If they will have similiar concept to SG1 and Atlantis i will give it a chance, but if it's anything like Universe i won't even bother.

IMO
Stargate was dbest with Jack, Carter, Teal'c and Daniel as a main team and when Hammond was in charge.

Anything Stargate is good news (except maybe SGU) but I wouldn't want them to trample over SG-1 and SGA.

This is very good news. I love Stargate, well...SG-1 and Atlantis
If they do it something like that, I would jump on the opportunity to watch it

While I'm glad Stargate is getting another look, I'm smelling Roland Emmerich's desperation. He hasn't made a decent movie since Independence Day, and White House Down flopped hard. To me, this all just looks like a guy past his prime trying bring back his good old days. I hope I'm wrong, but in my opinion, desperation and nostalgia aren't good places to start when making a movie.

Still, good news.

I look forward to them, though I realize it will likely be very different from the series I grew up with. Hopefully having new films out we'll also see some new life for the shows. I'm hoping for them to finally getting around to releasing SGU's final season on blu-ray at least.

Well, I am curious what his original vision of three films would have been, but I'm not sure I want something that will completely ignore 10 years of SG-1 and five years of SGA. However, at this point I don't see Stargate returning in a way that continues from where the series left off with Universe, so I suppose a reboot of the original movie is the best way to get the Stargate series back in people's interest.

SG1 > Atlantis > Emmerich's movie > Universe

Since Emmerich is doing this, I'm not overly excited. Now, a new series in the spirit of the first two, that I would be interested in.

Universe was too grim and ****y for my tastes after SG-1 and Atlantis. Atlantis' run was too short, I could've used a couple more seasons. How about a new series where the Stargate program has finally been revealed to the world and we now have an international stargate exploration program?
