I know that you can import your character, but my character died like a hero in the 1st game. How can I exactly import him?

Not at all, I'd guess.

You can also create a new character for the expansion if your original one is dead.

What would be interesting though and what I have been wondering is if you can still import some sort of after campaign save so your dead character's decissions are taken into account when your new you explores the world.

That's exactly what happens if you import a character that sacrificed themself. You play as the Orlesian GW with the choices that your former PC made.
