Also, if someone who has played ME1 13 times, ME2 14 times and ME3 11 times says GTA is superior, Christ, I dare not think of how many times Brovikk has played GTA!
As for comparing the two games, I do think it is very unfair as they're so different. ME focuses on the RPG element and it's writing whereas GTA focuses on the sandbox element and it's humour. As well as the whole future fantasy verses modern day squalor themes.
GTA's characters are more of a commentary of our culture today with very little subtlety (which compliments the game's narrative). ME's characters always run a bit deeper and it's always interesting to see them react to unusual situations. Like who would've predicted Tali would be so perturbed by that Horizon mission (or risk infection for a LITTLE intoxication). While she may be an admiral's daughter, I think she would've been better off as a socialite if she hadn't been raised to seek his approval.
I suppose one of the reasons why I keep playing this game is because of the story. It made me laugh and it broke my heart and, I suppose, that's why I voted for it.

Because I like Mass Effect too? A lot, actually. All I said was that GTA is better. I guess reading is pretty hard for you, eh?TheGarden2010 wrote...

Generally Rockstar is superior. For PC.
Steam + Rockstar Social Network + Windows Live = pure win.

Really? GTAIV was a terrible port, Red Dead never came to PC and there is no word about GTAV.
Max Payne 3 was an amazing port though.

You should probably consider actually playing the games before posting nonsense like that.Modius Prime wrote...
Never was a fan of GTA. Just thought of it as senseless violence and the reason why parents hate video games (It's always in the news). At least Mass Effect has a decent story.

GTA is winning, but ME is very close. I'd say it's fair.

Actually, GTA4 has a very intriguing narrative, as do its 2 expansions. The expansions also tie into the main game in a number of clever ways. Niko Bellic is an excellent protagonist, even if he is 99% on-rails. Johnny Klebitz and Luis Lopez are also very well written. Even though ME is my favorite series for this generation, I wouldn't fault Bioware if GTA took the spot. Rockstar has done a bang-up job, not only with GTA, but also with Red Dead. I haven't been able to play Max Payne 3.
I still prefer Shepard and Mass Effect, however.
