As much as I would love to have Evangeline as a companion, if we are having a templar companion it'll most likely be Cullen before her.
I rather not have Cullen as a companion. He isn't all that bright. His lack of intellgience would be the downfall of my inquisition organzation if he was allowed to toggle along.
And as far as Evangeline goes I haven't yet read Asunder so I have no comments.
Yes, I wasn't that crazy about Cullen either. He didn't seem to have that much depth outside the fact that your Warden could flirt with him, if they were a Mage.
As for Evangeline, you're doing a real disservice to yourself being in here, with all the spoilers. I had to practically avoid other threads that mentioned Asunder at all, the entire week it took to read it.

... Of course, we'd probably forget who he is frequently, but at least conversations would never get boring!

I don't see how Cullun isn't bright. Unless you are talking about young Origins Cullun? He's grown up allot sinse then and I think working for Meredith has opened his eyes a little bit.

I think Cole would make a pretty useful companion. We could send him off to spy on people and no one would know he was there.

That's the problem I have with cole though, that all sounds like a bit of a headache

Sounds like a good idea. I wouldn't want my Qunari mage to break a nail.

The Inquisition wasn't formed to fight demons, it was formed to close the Breach and to find out who was responsible for opening it. The demon fighting is just a means to that end.Zippy72 wrote...
Cole died; all that remains is a demon. The Inquisition is formed to fight demons - so I don't see how Cole could work as a party member?
There's nothing that says the Inquisition can't work with a demon if it will further that goal.

I would be very annoyed if your companions and everyone else fell out with you over becoming a blood mage but were all fine with you working with a demon.

If the internet says you did then you did. Don't you know how the internet works?

I was gonna say that too, but I felt someone else would get to it first. Good to know I'm not alone, haha.

The difference between demon and spirit is nebulous enough that I think there's room for some leeway. We don't even know if Cole is a demon, specifically. From what I hear, for most of Asunder he doesn't know what he is, so it's quite possible he's a spirit that lost its way and was corrupted by trauma, like Justice becoming Vengeance.mikeymoonshine wrote...

Who is to say that Cole isn't a spirit of Compassion, warped into a demon of Suffering or something? Since finding out what he is, Cole may have mellowed out.

In my opinion as interesting as he might be as a potential companion the amount of DRAMA and the kind of DRAMA radiating from him would be too annoying to handle all game long. The funny part is that such a DRAMA would be awsome if given in smaller dosage.
I'd picture him to work for Rhys or mages in general as a spy/assasin of sorts. Inquisitor could have several "meetings" with Cole throughout the game. Either catching Cole on spying or working with him for Rhys or the mages.

I'm speaking about DA2 Cullen. I wouldn't exactly say that he grew up alot since DA: O. In fact he's gotten worst, not better. He was the Knight Captain but was dumb as a door hammer. He allowed his Boss to contuine sqeezing the mages for as long as she could. At any time he could've done something about it, but didn't. Hes a typical mage hater just like Meredith.
He doesn't view Mages as people, and he made that perfectly clear in the gallows.

Cole has not been confirmed as companion. People speculate that he and Cullen will be companions, but that's a combination of rumor and guessing.

She was his boss and done what about it exactly?
I am no fan of meredith's but she had good reasons for what she was doing. It was only at the end that she completely lost it. He also doesn't hate mages he was completely in awe of the Amell warden for example and he does stand up to meredith once she decides to kill hawke who can be a mage!

I didn't read Asunder yet, but from what I've spoiled for myself, it sounds like I would want to exorcise him rather than team up with him.
