I was checking my Amazon account to make sure my order for ME2:CE wasn't removed due to them running out of supply (have heard of this happening) and I decided to randomly look at Mass Effect 2. I'm scrolling down the page when I see the review section. There are no reviews except for one that gave it five stars. The review is as follows:

Mary K Herring wrote... I received this game early from [...] and I am only 27 hours into the
game and it is phenomenal . It picked up a lot of saved data from Mass
Effect 1 . This has to be one of the most EPIC RPG's Bioware has ever
made . It is a definite must buy for an RPG lover.

The more interesting thing, to me, is that its an Amazon Verified Purchase and for those of you who don't know what that means, here is a description of what one is from Amazon:

What's an "Amazon Verified Purchase" review?

When
a product review is marked "Amazon Verified Purchase," it means that
the customer who wrote the review purchased the item at Amazon.com.
Customers can add this label to their review only if we can verify the
item being reviewed was purchased at Amazon.com. Customers reading an
Amazon Verified Purchase review can use this information to help them
decide which reviews are most helpful in their purchasing decisions.

To clarify, I do not believe this person is being truthful. I do not believe they have the game.

You can purchase an item before you receive it. In fact, that's how Amazon works. Hell, you can purchase an item and NOT receive it.

Meh, at least it's a positive review then, I guess.

You do know that ME1 was leaked even earlier?
Sims 3 was leaked a month before it was released
Besides, he's probably lying

Yeah but the OP is making a valid point if you actually READ what he said. He saw a review on Amazon...a REVIEW for ME2 when its still a week out for supposedly someone who bought the game on Amazon. Seeing as how this is (technically) impossible, it seems to confirm something Ive always believed, that Amazon WRITES THEIR OWN REVIEWS. (at least some of them)

Actually now that you mention it, I knew about both of those.

Edit: Changed topic title to make it more accurate as to what I was attempting to address.
