I hope he does. I want the option to kill that ****.

That, and it would make sense for Alistair to perhaps get involved in defending the world from the Broken Viel Threat. He's quite the heroic-type. He would doubtless get involved in an alliance to stop the Viel Threat if it were being set up.

Discuss.

Drunk if you allow Loghain to live.
I never have and doubt most people do.
So Allistair is either King of Ferelden or still a Grey Warden in most playthroughs.
Probably will meet him if your save has him as King.

Wow, so much hate for such a rich character, OP. Guess you don't like good guys.

As much as I love Alistair, I hope he's left out of DAI, after what they did with him in DA2 (not just talking about looks, but his jokes seemed too pushed).

But seeing as the major issue in DAI involves the well-being of all of Thedas, it seems only logical he at least plays some part in saving it. Well, that and the whole dragon-blood thing. D:

Well, if it makes you feel better, I do support curly hair being present in DA:I.

I want to see Alistair in DA:I. Or Anora. Or both of them. Whoever's on the throne, really.

I can only assume that part of the Inquisitor's job will be gaining allies, similar to the Warden. So I see no reason to not, at some point, visit the current ruler of Ferelden.

I think Warden Alistair also has a high likelihood of showing up. Don't know about drunk Alistair though. Maybe you can kill that one...

I want to see Alistair again because in my canon he is King either by himself or married to Anora. I have considered doing a playthrough where he remains a GW though.

Some of you are forgetting that even if he is a drunkard in DA2, Bann Teagan will convince Alistair to return to Ferelden in Act 2. So it's possible he could still show up in DA:I. Maybe he was allowed to re-join the Wardens or executed or something, who knows.

The 2 Alistair's with the best chance of being in the game would be if he is made King of Ferelden since we will probably have to deal with the Ferelden monarchs to establish a foothold and make an alliance with them.

The grey warden Alistair should also be in the game since they are up to something in the game and they could be an antagonistic force in the game and it would be interesting to see what he has to say, and what side he could take.

Well we will be going back to ferelden, so if he's king, it may require an audience at some point.

If God Baby appears, I would hope Alistair appears.

I haven't seen a single word said about the God-baby if it was conceived by Alistair...far more interesting then the baby just being a child of the Warden commander since if Alistair is king then guess who is the heir to the throne of Fereldan?

We're going back to Ferelden in DA:I? Where did you read this?

I'd imagine he might show up to continue the Therin Bloodline storyline in the comics.

I think a majority of people killed Loghain, sure, but I think quite a lot of people also inducted him into the Wardens.  You can keep Loghain alive without turning Alistair into a drunk, too.  It's easy enough to have Alistair marry and rule with Anora while making Loghain a Warden.

It's been suggested here and there by Bioware.  Most recently, I THINK, it was mentioned at PAX that the game will span as far as the westernmost bits of Orlais to the easternmost reaches of Ferelden.

I'm actually not sure that I do have a save in which both Loghain and Alistair is alive by the end of the Landsmeet.

Seems like something I should remedy.

Perhaps that's when we meet him?  He's a temporary companion in the Deep Roads, and his personality, equipment, dialog, and such varies on whether he's a king, warden, or in exile?

SInce he's alive as a GW or King in my playthroughs, I'd be okay with something along the lines of a cameo, sure. As long as it's brief.

Someone once swore up and down to me that with a high persuasion skill, maxed approval with Alistair (and high cunning??) it was possible to keep the romance with Alistair active despite making Loghain a Warden.  I keep meaning to get a playthrough to that point and test this theory.

I may crank out a save with Alistair married to Anora and Loghain as a Warden, just to have one.  I'm a huge enough fan of Alistair though that I generally let him hack the teyrn's head off.
