That being said I generally make him king. If he and Loghain are both alive, I'd like to see them have a conversation.

This is partly why I want DAI to take into account the people that have kept both of them alive in DAO.Former_Fiend wrote...
I've only ever once chosen Alistair over Loghain, and in that playthrough he ended up committing the ultimate sacrifice anyway.

You can have him executed in DA:O.Cap. Obvious wrote...
I hope he does. I want the option to kill that ****.

To be fair, Alistiar's voice is not as annoying as Jowan. Seriously, I think like my ears are bleeding whenever I hear Jowan speak. I mean, seriously Jowan, shut up!simpatikool wrote...
Allistair's Voice always got on my nerves. I could never stand him by the end of the game. Having him done in always seemed like my reward for tolerating him. Even when I was a good guy. I still enjoy pety revenge. :-)

Silfren ...
It's been suggested here and there by Bioware. Most recently, I THINK, it was mentioned at PAX that the game will span as far as the westernmost bits of Orlais to the easternmost reaches of Ferelden.Cap. Obvious wrote...
We're going back to Ferelden in DA:I? Where did you read this?MR_PN wrote...
Well we will be going back to ferelden, so if he's king, it may require an audience at some point.
It's a fact we will be going back to Ferelden and that a majority of the events in the story will take place there and in Orliais.
Also apparently we might be going to Nevrra, the Free Marches and possibly Tevinter since they appeared on the loading screens and the last was hinted at I think.
@piotrbugryn The majority of the events happen in Ferelden and Orlais.11:56am - 17 Aug 13- Mike Laidlaw Twitter.

The calling depends on many factors and could be less than 10 years and possibly upwards of 30+ years if they have enough willpower.
-David GaiderWe have instances in the game of people going on their Calling after five or ten years. Alistair's thirty year quote shouldn't be taken as gospel, that's the way I like it.
Yeah, so it's supposed to be a maximum thirty years after you take the [Joining] but it can vary, so I'd say the rule of thumb right now is between ten and thirty years, is the most common.

For all the hate Alistair has for Loghain, he never had a proper conversation with the guy. It would be pretty interesting to see it happen, especialy if Alistair is king

That's one of the reasons why I hope BioWare takes into account Loghain surviving the Landsmeet. Such a conversation between the two would provide much intrigue. Same thing with a conversation between Nathaniel and Loghain.TribolMan wrote...

Loghain was a legitimate traitor who committed high treason against his King. He deserves death, and that's what I gave him, especially slight in the fact that he tried to have me and Alistair killed a few times.

Loghain left Cailan because he couldn't be saved and if his troops engaged, the Ferelden army would have most likely been destroyed.Lord Raijin wrote...
Why all the hate for Alistair? For a character he wasn't all that bad. His voice? What do you expect him to sound like? Hating someone over the sound of their voice is silly.

That's what makes this such a compelling game. Most of the choices we're given have pros and cons on both sides. For one to argue that Loghain was a traitor, others could argue he did what he thought was right. Or Alistair wasn't seeing the big picture about having one more warden at the battle of Denerim.

Was that said in the comics? Because they're non-canon. Anywho, if it is canon, then that is so cheap.cJohnOne wrote...
I thought Alistair had dragon blood and was probably immune from the calling.

Alistair is the next archdemon, semi-confirmed rumor.

I can see some of it being canon. Like, if it's confirmed that Alistair is Fiona's son, I could take that as canon. But if he died on your playthrough, how can he meet Yavana?

Alistair is, if unhardened, weak willed, whiny, judgmental, and insensitive. He places the weight of saving the world on the player characters shoulders and gets b*tchy if they complain about it, regardless of whatever trauma they may have suffered just prior to potentially being forced to join the wardens. He has an unrealistic idealism about the wardens that ultimately shows that he doesn't understand their purpose. He complains constantly about being pushed as king and tries to seize it the moment it looks like he isn't going to get his personal vengeance and refuses to put his feelings aside for the greater good.
Now, don't get me wrong, I actually like Alistair and he can grow and change as a person. He is, objectively, a better person than Loghain from a moral standpoint. But being a Warden isn't about morality. It's about doing whatever it takes to get the job done. Loghain's willing to do that, Alistair isn't.

He sounds exactly like his father before he became king.
I always wondered if maybe that was a subtle theme in Origins. That Alistair was a stand-in for King Maric and that you were playing the role of Loghain. It certainly made sense with how I roleplayed my Warden (deeply pragmatic but idealistic as well).
