Again, not relevant. "The same engine" doesn't equal less detail. In fact, it lends itself to MORE detail, so they don't have to spend six months trying to buld an engine from scratch for no reason.

And looking into it, they only use the same engine if you count The Witcher 2 and The Witcher 3 as having the same engine. It's not the same, it's upgraded.

Hm, the combination of consoles and the FPS genre just doesn't work for me personally. Then again I rarely ever play FPS games, mostly because I suck at them. ^^

EA has a ponit. Good systems have a large lifeline as oppsosed to have a short one. Engines are all about graphic api underlyning them and improving of the underlining functionality is possible. If the engine was written expansability should be very possible. Overhauls of a new systems are much more expensive to do and for the call of duty franchise which is based on iterative releases upgrading an engine would be the best way to do it. Upgrading in such a way that the functionality is the same but improvements could be seen. Sometimes however things are such a disaster that creating a new one from scratch would save everyone the trouble
