Well, it seems like Dragon Age Inquisition will be really demanding from PC's...

Battlefield 4 specs came out:

Image IPB

Because DA:I will use the same engine, we can assume that its specs are going to be similar to BF4.

I knew Frostbite 3 would be demanding, but I am really surprised by the recomended specs, they caught me off guard.

At least my pc will handle it.:wizard:

What about you guys?

The recommended specs are for full graphical fidelity at some resolution not specified. 1080p? 1440p? No idea. The minimum specs are pretty damn low though.

No problems here either. I just built a watercooled, dual GTX680 beast this January.

So for me it'll just be a question of how it plays at the highest resolutions with everything dialed to the max...

The recommended specs for BF4 are pretty high, but the minimum is pretty reasonable - I suspect most people currently gaming on PC have something that could handle it.

And hey, even if not, there's still about a year to do some upgrading.

3GB GRAM and a hexacore processor eh? Well, hmm. Looks like I'll be upgrading my PC at the end of 2014.

The recommended specs for BF 4 are likely higher than that of DA:I. That it uses the same engine doesn't matter.

Hmm, I'd make the minimum system req but not recommended. Maybe I'll treat myself to an upgrade.

Didn't DICE say that Frostbite 3 was to be 64-bit? Guess not. Battlefield 3.1. Probably means that DA:I will also be 32-bit. One could almost say that the installed base of PCs is now holding back the 64-bit consoles.

I joke and kid, but it really is a shame. At the moment it looks like next-gen gaming will only be happening on the exclusive releases for consoles since they will not need to support people running 32-bit versions of Windows on 64-bit processors.

doesn't look that bad. i think i'll be fine with my current video card and os but ive got 4gb ram and a dual-core processor so prolly aint a half bad idea to upgrade. i might be broke but i got a year to get it all up to speed before inquisition is released.

I don't play enough video games anymore to justify upgrading the PC. So whatever my I7 2600K and GTX580 can do with it is just going to have to do. May have to brush up on the overclocking.

Not following, mate. That i7/580 combo will be fine for Frostbite 3.  No worries.

I'll have upgraded or purchased a console by then. Still, I don't think DAI's recommended specs will be as high as BF4's.

I only use 7 because all my Asus laptop drivers are on a dvd only compatible with Windows 7 64 bit (Love hate you! You awesome bastards!) (downloading them all for windows 8 would take too much time and work)

Windows 8 is not so bad when you get used to it and it gives a small boost for games.

That actually looks reasonable, especially for the low end.

But the recommended GPU memory requirements do seem a bit much. I wonder how much of a drain texture swapping will really be with less available memory.

It does give a small boost, sometimes 10%, sometimes nothing, depending on the game.

However, for those who high end machines, and vertical sync, they won't notice anything different.

Oh well. We'll see.

I'll tell you what I think! I think they should make PC spec's easier to understand. I can never figure out what my rig will do or which one to buy when I upgrade. I just take the invoice I got when I bought my computer into Best Buy and see if they laugh at me when I tell them what game I want to play. (Actually happened IRL!)

I would just need to upgrade my processor and possibly power supply. And I'd do another 2-3 gig of RAM to be safe. I would probably just upgrade the video card, too. Even though it's capable enough. I have a pretty good rig for 448 dollars :P Random walmart find!

Gateway DX. Windows 8. AMD Radeon 6530D, AMD quad core processor 3620 @2.2GHz. 6 gigs of RAM. 300 watt power supply. Massive case, and easily upgradeable. Not the best, but it plays most games I like on high with no issue.

Honestly, with the Dragon Age Keep thing. I'd rather just buy a ps4 even though I prefer to play on my PC :( I'd save money in the long run.

Maybe only if you don't plan to buy many games. Games are usually more cheap on pc (thanks steam!)

For a gamer like me, pc is the most reliable option, because I use a laptop (that means I can play wherever I want) and I only care if he can run the game or not. Not interested on "MAX SETTINGS BEST GRAPHICS EVER TAKE THAT YOU CONSOLE FANBOYS!". And like I said above, Steam can give really generous discounts.

Anybody want to take pity on the middle-aged and give me an idea how my computer fairs? I've really been worried about having to upgrade next year.

Windows 7 64-bit
Intel i5 2.3 GHz (2.7 with TurboBoost)
4 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M
2.7 GB Memory
