I'm wondering if he might even go after Gretchen and Elliot, though I suppose it's more likely that Jack and his gang are the targets. For that matter, given how angry he is in general, he might still be partially blaming Jesse for turning informant - even if he inadvertently saves Jesse in the course of taking out Jack's gang, I wonder if he'd let Jesse go at that point or try to kill him.

In any case, I'm hoping Jesse manages to extricate himself from this situation without Walter's help. He'd probably be most concerned for Brock right now if he does escape.

It's an interesting idea. Like I said, I have no idea where this is going one way or another. On the one hand, I could see Gretchen and Elliot simply being used to inspire Walt to get back into the game and finish Jack off.

But I'm still trying to reconcile what Walt needs with both a machine gun and ricin. The two represent very different styles of killing so short of Walt using it on himself, I'm wondering if that could be for Gretchen/Elliot?

It would be very amusing if Walt M60ed Grey Matter. But I highly doubt he would murder his ex girl and best friend in cold blood, if he was willing to give up all his money to save a brother in law who wasn't being very nice to him. Unless he's truly gone insane from living in a cabin

ok so I wikied sociopathy, and the signs of both psychopathy and anti-socialness doesn't really seem to fit todd well at all:

Facet 1: Interpersonal
Facet 2: Affective
  • Lack of remorse or guilt
  • Emotionally shallow
  • Callous/lack of empathy
  • Failure to accept responsibility for own actions

Facet 3: Lifestyle
  • Need for stimulation/proneness to boredom
  • Parasitic lifestyle
  • Lack of realistic, long-term goals
  • Impulsivity
  • Irresponsibility
Facet 4: Antisocial

  • Many short-term marital relationships
  • Promiscuous sexual behavior
Granted he's fictional character but other than taking murder REALLY lightly he doesn't seem all that sciopathic does he?

Oh and did anyone think the end scene's music and how it turns into the usual credits cue was bloody wicked?

Are you kidding?  The first two facets fit Todd like a custom tailored glove.

I guess on closer exmination he can be considered quite "Affective". I wouldn't exactly call him glib though, did you see how many times he used "good" when he was chatting Lydia up? I think I've found someone who's worse at flirting than I. If he has any charm it comes entirely from his being extraordinarily polite. And does he have a "Grandiose sense of self-worth"? That's Walt isn't it? I recall Todd being very humble.

im just a touch "worried" that there is only 60 or so minutes left to resolve this.

My theory of Walter white was the lost of his middle life crisis. In my own theory middle life crisis is the explosion of the  repressed true you for all these years. You live by the book for so many years like a puppy on a leash. Doing what everyone tell you what you need to do.. Because of whatever responsabilities you have. Has a father or husband. When it's over you go back to your former you, but accept it and live the rest of your life without that leash anymore.

I think Walter White skipped that phase and when he learned about his cancer. All his anger/rage resurfaced. That super repressed rage and anger at the world, but he has no time now to go back. He does not care one seconds about himself, but just his family. Now that his family has rejected his money.. He has just one thing left to do. Redemption.

I think he will do it by freeing Pinkman and killing Uncle Jack. Has for the money. My guess it will be used for something we really don't know, but he will use it for something unexpected.

Considering anyone's life forfeit so that you can make some dosh counts as having a grandiose sense of self-worth.

I am just finishing rewatching season 1, and it feels like I am watching a completely different show then when I originally watched it. I had almost forgotten that Walt use to be genuinely sympathetic. You get to see small hints and pieces of Heisenberg but its so subtle this early on you could almost miss it.

When I see Walt and Jesse all I can think of is the last couple episodes that aired and just how badly it will all blow up in the end.

I feel like just one episode left to wrap everything up isn't enough.

That spider in a jar hasn't popped up either.

I think it would be interesting in Jesse ends up killing Walts family as revenge for what Walts caused, but with this show who knows? Man, just a few more hours until the final episode of one of the greatest shows on television.

Where would he go with this money? What would he do? He would never be able to live any kind of real life, he would never be able to effectively spend that money. Hes already lost, it looks like he just figures he has 1 last job before it is all over.

I really liked that first scene. It looked like Walter was reflecting on the life he, his wife and children could have had in a house like that.

Looking great so far.

I agree with the above. It did the show justice. I don't have any complaints.

Totally satisfying. It's nice to see a show actually pull off its finale so well.

There were a hell of a lot of things that could have gone wrong with that plan.

A hell of a lot.

It could have been a lot tighter.

I thought Walter got off a little too easy by being able to accomplish his original goal of leaving a lot of money for his family. In reality, he also left behind a lot of emotional and moral damage for them, not to mention quite the trail of dead bodies, but the episode kind of sidesteps that by ending on Jesse escaping and Walter bleeding out.

Generally, it's a very bad idea to have the events of a story count for nothing.
