This is myfirst topic here on BSN. :o

As we've been shown throughout the previous titles, contact with a demon is not
the only way to acquire knowledge of blood magic. I am not asking for NPCs to
ignore that my character is a Blood Mage, just merely hoping that I don't have
to always perform a Faustian pact whenever I roll up a Blood Mage

I think that's fair. Another blood mage could, hypothetically, teach the mage protagonist how to use blood magic. I thought it would've made sense if Merrill taught apostate Hawke blood magic, for example. I'm curious if we could start off as a blood mage.

The whole "demons are the ones to teach blood magic" thing seems kind of silly, really. I'm sure they can, but as the regular source? Then the circles are morons. It means the Harrowing is not only pointless, but something that should be discouraged. Isn't the entire premise that the demon will try to possess the mage, so it tests their willingness to resist? But if demons are actually going around and teaching blood magic instead without possessing anyone, then how would the Templars know they didn't just make that deal?

Maybe you learn it from Jowan.
