Twice now in past few weeks I've run into an error where my PC is no longer able to cast spells or use bardic inspirations on himself. Spells cast on companions or NPCs appear to be working normally. Two different modules, two different PCs. The only common event I can think of was a Microsoft update running in the background unknown to me while I was playing. Anyone else seeing this?
Spell Failures on WinX updates nights.

Actually, yes ... but not recently. I lost the ability to right-click and target a couple months ago, but it came back. It also affected mouse behavior outside the game. I don't remember if it required a hot reboot or cold reboot, but it was nothing major.
p.s. For several months now (not due to this particular issue, but others), I've reset Windows Update to automatically download but not to install without confirmation. Life has been much less unpredictable; I heartily recommend this, especially if you play games in the wee hours when Windows Update likes to run.

Well I checked and my update setting is to "download only". I addition to NWN2, this Tuesday's update also disabled my printer driver. Had to reboot to complete the updates before I could print, (AT 1:30 AM!!!!)
I'm running Vista 64 bit and it is definitely the update routine that is causing the issues. It's just too consistent to be anything else. This makes three weeks in a row.
