I honestly don't get this statement. I'm going to say this not as an Ashley fan, but as a fan of common sense, the reasons given for this to be true aren't true themselves.Necanor wrote...

I'm assuming the trailer focuses on Ashley, and actually hints at the romance with her being the canon for that trailer? If so, I don't know if I want to see it. I never let Ashley reach ME3 anymore, it damages her character too much (whereas Kaidan is actually improved).
I agree. My view of Kaidan really improved with ME3, whereas my view of Ash really worsened. I think Ash was more or less ruined in ME3.

What repeated comments? Mars and the Coup are the only times. Both very sensible. The Night Mammoth wrote...
What needs explaining? I don't think she acts rationally. Her distrust of Shepard is understandable to begin with but her unwillingness to take two and think about the situation, and her repeated comments, as sparse as they are relative to the rest of the game, I don't think are warranted or sensible.
This isn't even a problem sole to Ashley, which even you pointed out, so it has nothing to do with the dicusssion at hand. It's just you giving an opinion on character writing in Mass Effect in general, not how Ashley's character was ruined.I don't mind the fact that there's a character who doesn't bend over for Shepard. I don't have a great love for Garrus past enjoying the fact that he's a reliable wing man, because he's boring, frankly. What I'd have liked is a character that actually has a reasonable, logical, and meaningful story, of not trusting Shepard's actions but finally being brought round. I don't think Ashley's arc fulfills what I want.
In hindsight, that need explaining.

Not it's not. I'm talking specifically about this character. It's just you giving an opinion on character writing in Mass Effect in general,
I don't think Ashley's character was ruined, so naturally I wouldn't talk about that anyway.not how Ashley's character was ruined.

Wow, I've heard some really fucked up things here. Like really fucked up. But this just takes the cake. I'm sure glad that I have a Y chromosome, wouldn't want to go on a menstrual rage or anything. If this is a joke, it's not funny at all, and if it isn't, remember that your mother brought you into this world before you start talking about her sex that way.TheMyron wrote...

She was probably jumping on her menstrual cycle at the time and looking for someone to run over with it.
Whereas Kaiden is, well, a man.

Really, and I'll stop saying it when it's apparent that this isn't true, it all boils down to, Ashley doesn't do everything that I want her to do like every other character, and this hurts my feelings. I know BioWare got it into your heads that everyone needs to bend over backwords on command and take every single suggestion you give as a command that must be followed, but that simply isn't how rational beings function. Deal with it.
Now really, the only thing this even remotely has to do with this thread is that Ashley is a Spectre. Let's move on now, shall we.
Yeah, turns out that bug we've told you about six times this week is still a thing. It didn't stop being a thing just for this argument.Necanor wrote...

The distrust is one thing. But Ashley is also horribly anti-social in ME3. Sure, she talks with Tali every now and then, but that's basically it. She turns into somewhat of a drama queen in ME3:?
Flirtatious? That's really the only noticable difference. It's obviously the same personality, minus the brown nosing that so many people seem to hate but at the same time ask for.Wynterdust wrote...
Basically, if she was like she was in ME1, it would have been much better.

It doesn't make her more likeable, but it adds to her character.

As in she still questioned you and made her viewpoints clear without coming off as petty like she does in 3. The confrontation on Horizon in ME2 was much better done than anything in 3. In 3 she already knows the score, but still carries it on.
