I don't like the change in her facial structure. Being older doesn't change your facial features THAT much.

Bioware seem to always have issues with carrying over characters faces from one game to another. Look what they did to Alistair and Zevran in DA2...

Although Varric and Cassandra's face looks good in DAI.

I like it. She's aged well, got some fancy clothes (though the Warden is rolling in sovereigns, much thanks to Morrigan's herbalism skill though that's gameplay/story...) and between all the different concepts for Morrigan's face DA:O box art, Sacred Ashes trailer, ingame, this seems like a nice comprimise between them and she actually looks rather like a real person. Her ingame face in DA:O was kind of strange - wouldn't change it for the world, but it looked strange. This face is also strange, but I like it. Keep up the good work, Bioware artists.

That's a point... Leliana and Morrigan have both been hanging around the same Orlesian crowd for some time now, presumably. I wonder how much contact they've had?

Honest;y, with those pictures on the first page she looks a tiny bit distorted. Overall, there'll obviously be more improvements on the animations and that so I'm not worried. It LOOKS like Morrigan which is the best thing about her. Her clothes also fit the theme of Orlais. I'm VERY happy. I LOVE YOU BIOWARE!!

Honestly, I will wait to see what she looks like in the final game. She definitely isn't as attractive in the trailer as she was in Origins. I assume this is part of the new art direction though as really all of the characters in it have the same kind of proportions. Varric and Cassandra also have this new rounded face rather than sharp flat cheeks.

Personally not a fan of round chubby faces myself.

Is she? I don't think we've ever been given a set age for Morrigan in Origins. I know there were some ages given for some early drafts of the characters but as far as I understand they're non-canon.

Im thinking she is not quite in her fourties yet. We know she was a teenager in origins. Guessing 16?  DA2 was a time frame of ten years, but Cassandra didn't interrogate Varric until a year after that. Add a couple years for the war because we won't start at the beginning of that.   My guess.    Mid thirties.

Also remember in game she is bound to look different than she does in concept art. DA:O trailer Morrigan was a snaggle tooth.
@calerter: that picture is hilarious, especially since Leliana is wearing armor.

i quite simply don't like the looks (she didn't age well - where she once was one of the most beautifull characters in DA, she now looks kind bad (kind of ugly - not pug-ugly but not beautifull or pretty anymore))

as for the dress - i don't like that she wears one at all (for me Morrigan was the typical tomboy with an attitude - and that's what i liked about her), it does not fit her personality well IMHO (yes: people can change - but that drastically?...i question that!)

Tcchh, In my Canon play through Morrigan had a baby. She is 10 years + older than the last time we seen here...

What do I think? She looks great! Besides, it's not like she doesn't resemble Morrigan at all and that her face change is omg world shattering what did you do to Morrigan?

If she's still the same character that I enjoyed, and I can TELL it's her just with a glance despite her aging...I don't care. People get older.

Why go  through so much trouble to create such expressive faces and eyes, only to conceal half of it with hair?

Do people think I meant she was literally a teenager? Gosh.
As Mary points out, I meant her personality. As in specifically the relationship between her and her mother.
I wouldn't think I'd need to clarify that, but evidently I do.

Gaider already said that she wasn't a teenager in a thread awhile ago but didn't give an age range, so my guess would be somewhere in between 32-42+ in DAI putting her in between 21-31 at the end of DAO.






As for how she looks now it's good(perfer the DAO)though I do expect her to change since they are still redesigning things also her dress is because she joined the Orlesian Court but she might have another outfit aswell.
