Meh, still a year away. (And by that I mean her appearance can always be improved/changed).

However, I think I'm going to love Morrigan in DAI. I look forward to seeing where Bioware takes her character.

For me no I don't like her new look. Mostly because to me she looks like she fell out of Dishonoured which is rather anachronistic to me.

Do you mean her dress?  It doesn't seem all that out of line with the renaissance, at least.
Image IPB

and Thedas has always struck me as at least late medieval if not early renaissance.  And Orlais would be more renaissance than Fereldan.

I don't like the change in her facial structure. Being older doesn't change your facial features THAT much.

Bioware seem to always have issues with carrying over characters faces from one game to another. Look what they did to Alistair and Zevran in DA2...

Although Varric and Cassandra's face looks good in DAI.

This was exactly what i thought, "Being older doesn't change your facial features THAT much" also thanks everyone for your replies, most of you are ok with her new look. Some others didnt understand which was  my concern about her new look, lets just say that i dont like big changes on characters for example Dante from the old DMC he was a jerk and a badass,  but then DMC5 came out and I didnt buy the game cause i didnt feel he was Dante anymore it was a whole new emo Dante. I must say that this is not the case i may not like her new style (at least the one from the trailer) but ok i guess i can live with that.

I'm not happy with her new look. To cartoony for my taste, the most unrealistic character I've seen so far. Apart from that, she is plain ugly and not the temptress I remember :-( please Bioware do something about this.

To be honest, I think she looks better.. but not in the E3 trailer. Her lip movement seems 'off', but that pic of her in the Orlesian outfit is very nice. If she's like that in game I have no complaints.

I think the fact that no one moaned about the mouth movements in the PAX demo shows people are fine with the current mouths. They'll have fixed them.

Looks fine to me. We'll have to see how she's written.

I think it's more that smiles are particularly prone to looking weird/goofy/scary.  Even with otherwise solid face animations.
(Insert horrific Default Shep smile here.)

I'm excited about what they said about her direction in the GameInformer article. I just hope she's still distinctly Morrigan.

Well that was a thing in DAO. They had a tendency to smile by stretching their lips to their ears. Especially the elves. I found it endearing though.

Given what we've seen of Orlesians, it's pretty reasonable that thier high fashion would be ornate to the point of gaudiness.

And if it's true that Morrigan is hobnobbing with the empress or other high-ups in Orlais, she'd certainly have to dress the part, rather than the Chasind swamp witch look we saw in DAO.

Actually, didn't she have a thing for shiny gifts and mirrors back then?

I don't like her newly gained Final Fantasy vibe, no. Then again, all of DAI looks like a Final Fantasy game, so I guess she fits in there perfectly.

I must have watched the wrong footage at Pax then, because DAI looked nothing like FF.

Looks like DA and Dark Soul had a sexy baby.

I love the dress. I'm undecided on the face. Not liking what I see thus far, but it could just be a terrible angle and looks fine in the actual game.

I need to see it in-game in lighitng like with Cass. Like Cass I didn't like her face when first showen until GI screenshots and Pax footage.

Love her dress though.

My point exactly. I'm still undecided on Cass, but the Pax footage did make me feel much, much better about Varric.

That jaw line is disgusting. She doesn't look older either, just a gross jaw.

Not bad,

I mean since she departed in Origins/WH hasn't it been...13 years since anyone has seen her last?

I don't like the new character art very much. One thing that bothers me is the makeup seems off.

It seems like a cross between 80s makeup and vamp.

On the image, the blush looks like its on the apple of the cheek and right underneath the eyes-it's a bit of a dated way to put on blush. It looks like how my mom used to put it on when I was a kid (25 years ago.). What is considered more attractive now is a lighter, defter touch with more emphasis on blush following the contours of the cheekbone.

Also, the eye makeup is way too heavy. On younger folks, it's acceptable, but heavy eye makeup on older folks makes them just look older. Plus, it also screams mutton trying to dress up as lamb.

I guess I just dislike the image because IMHO whomever did the makeup/coloring made her look like a graduate of beauty school in the mid 80s.

YMMV.

She looks fine to me, but I'm almost certain this isn't her final appearance, so we'll have to wait and see.

(The same applies to other characters; I won't hold my breath on anyone looking the same as they do now in the final game a year later.)

I hope they change her so she looks like the old Morrigan.
Some Bioware people apparently don't like the criticism about her looks.
shrugs.
Too bad.

Oh, this again? Even for a mage this has to be a factor? Who even says she is going to be fighting? She isn't going to be a companion.

She's not going to look like Morrigan from DAO unless we go back in time. They do need to do some tweaking or at least show her in proper lighting in-game, but her looking just like in DAO? Not going to happen at all.
