Alistair's nose looked very strange in DA2. I was a little weirded out. I assume this is how (some) Morrigan fans are feeling. I think she looks fine, but I completely understand how a fan would be put off by the changes. I have to say that the shape of the jaw is completely different. Why is that?

I'm no bothered with the way she looks tbh, for me what will be interesting is if she has a big part in DAI,how will she be

She looks no more different than Varric and Cassandra look when compared to their prior iterations. It's a new engine, with new capabilities and quirks - the art style has adjusted as a result.

I didn't say the new Morrigan has to look exactly like the old one.
I said more like.
I expect they'll make an adjustment to her face.
That will happen.

I think her looks are fine for someone who is aged and for a character that is in a new engine. Also I have my own guesses for how old everyone is. I always figured Alistair was at least 20-24. the Warden 20-25, Morrigan 20-26, Leliana 26-30.I assume Hawke was 26-30 as well as his companions except for Merrill who seems to be in the 20-24 range. I really wish we knew more about ages of characters though. But, I assume by now most characters are are in there 30's and people like Varric,Hawke,Leliana, and Cassandra are in their late 30's early 40's.

I always took Morrigan to be around 24 in DA:O.

That would have been close to my guess. I'd have put her at about 25. In DA:I I'd put her at 35, assuming it starts at 10 years after the events of DA:O.

I was a bit surprised in another thread to read that the toolset listed her as 32 in DA:O, as she didn't strike me as someone in her thirties. Spectre Slayer's post with dev quotes however cleared that up.

I like her look except for the jaw. Its not so bad, but I think it does need some work. Cassandra's jaw is even worse, I hope they at least consider some of the feedback that has come in on that issue.

I wouldn't have thought she could have put up with Flemeth for 32 years. Seems a bit of a stretch to me. I had her quite a bit younger.

Yup. I continue to find it incredible that it is called "dubious" when a thread about a female character's physical appearence is allowed to be kept open, while threads about Cullen's appearence are given no such description. I guess two conditions must be met, in these type of threads, in order for them not to be considered boarish, sexist and/or shallow:

1) The character who's physical appearence is being dissected must be male, or else it is clearly misogyny.

2) The majority of commenters must be female, or else it is clearly sexist.

Morrigan is not "new" because her appearance changed. She's going to be new because of all the change she has undergone between the games. And I don't have enough information to decide whether I like that Morrigan or not.

Appearance-wise? Certainly do! Though I wish the hair didn't cover half of her face.

I don't know why anyone would say that she's "aged badly". I'd take daily baths in virgin blood to look like that when I'm in my mid-thirties.

Agreed!

I'm pretty positive they must have tweaked her features to some extent already since that first trailer ; she looks just like her old DA:O self (only improved) in her latest screenshot. Personally, I'm happy as long as she's the same character to me ; that "ugly" nonsense is immature and kinda offensive.

why is it "offensive" if you don't like how someone looks?

it is kind of bad to tell them to their face that they are ugly, but it's not offensive if you think that and discuss looks with people :(

greetings LAX
ps: i still don't like her - and no, i know women in their 40's that look way better (and have aged better, without having plastic surgery)...doing sports (tennis or martial arts in those cases i know) helps a lot, as does a healthy diet ;)

Man no wonder so many people hated DA2 elves if they think frigging Morrigan, the epitome of conventional beauty, is ugly. How depressing. She looks absolutely fine, she looks like the same person aged. Whine about the shots that show her at a weird angle all you want (just like people do with Fenris all the time), she would be considered a beautiful and well aged woman in real life.

Gaider already said that she wasn't a teenager in a thread awhile ago but didn't give an age range, so my guess would be somewhere in between 32-42+ in DAI putting her in between 21-31 at the end of DAO.

That might be an accurate estimation, were it not for her travelling into another dimension... ^_^ Assuming it was the Fade (and it could have been anywhere), either time might work differently or the physical effects of aging might function completely different. Maybe even in reverse!

For all we know, Morrigan might be five thousand years old now and not have physically aged a single day.

Like I said, the only problem I have is her hair, which is obscurring half that perfectly fine face.

I like both the old and new Morrigans and Cassandras, I think they all look great - I guess I'm just not that fussy?

I can sum the thread up with "boo hoo she changed, WHY DID SHE AGE" or better yet "the engine changed and she and other characters look different now, why Bioware why!"

Really not that big of a deal. Sandal could be a giant the size of three stacked Qunari and I'd just shrug my shoulders and say, "well this is odd, but let's see where it goes..."

Yeah, I think she looks very pretty and glamorous. She's wearing something pretty different but I'm sure she'll have a similar awesome personality. If she does not, I'll be very disappointed cause she's one of my favorite characters. I really want to know how she is as a mother.

Her jaw is just intense. Just probably had some dwarf dna injected lol, but that seem to be the case with every character in the game so far. Frostbite Jaw Engine.
