I know. That's the problem. Why are you only complaining about EDI? Why are you not complaining about every attractive character in existence? They didn't have to be attractive, right? The Mad Hanar wrote...

David, you are making a lot of assumptions. I never said that. I simply said that their characters had a lot of sex appeal and that it is not necessairly needed in the games. Just like EDI. Her story arc would've been fine without. It's whatever though, I didn't lose my mind when she did get her body.
Could the same not be said for any attractive character in any work of fiction in existence? "Why were they made attractive? They didn't have to be attractive! It must be for basement dwellers and 13 year old boys!!!"
But I didn't say that.

All hail the messiah! For he is a shinning beacon of HEROISM and strong CHARACTERIZATION in a forum of weak misguided fools!
Let us all recite our lord's commandments!
1. Thou shalt be heroic at all times, and only play games or read books in which heroism is palpable.
2. Thou shalt appreciate any and all skimpy clothing for it is the truest sign of strong characterization.
3. There is no such thing as a "Mary Sue" or "Plot Armor", unless said character is disliked by the messiah, David7204.
4. A story must have great heroism and great triumph.
5. Moral ambiguity is a lie created by the unheroic to deceive the faithful.
6. Science is only valid if it allows for heroic storytelling.
7. There is no pragmatism, there is only the right thing to do.
8. Good and Evil is a real concept, and all heroes must be good.
9. Doing what thou feels is right will never have negative consequences, unless of course thou does something renegade which will cause the messiah to strike thou down with heroic fury.
10. Thou shalt make clear which choices and options in thy video-games are the right ones. Moral ambiguous choices/options are unacceptable for they are meaningless.
Praise his heroic name!!!

Are you even talking about her suit or the slim tattoo lines that go down from her throat? I apologize, that previous comment was too superficial.

But I didn't say that.
Miranda's attractiveness makes sense. It's part of her character, she is impacted by it and she was created with the purpose of being an attactive woman. That makes sense. Liara is a part of a race of naturally beautiful women. That makes sense. EDI started off as a character without a body. It was not necessary to give her one.

I would think it's completely obvious.
You're complaining that having most characters be good looking is a 'fantasy' on the grounds that such a thing supposedly wouldn't occur in real life. Is that right? So I'm asking you why you've conveniently forgotten the idea that it's probably not very likely for a person to be surrounded by smart, fit, and brave people either.
So I want you to explain to me why you're complaining about characters being attractive and not about their other good traits.
Are you surrounded by smart, fit, and brave people IRL?

when making them attractive is not important to their character or development (ie Miranda) and is added to a pre-existing character, its intent as fanservice seem to me obviousDavid7204 wrote...
