A bit off topic, but the Justicar's pull/reave BE is quite powerful; I'm guessing 75% of the Krodept's BE. Plus pull is one of the fastest cooldowns in the game; if it is dodged, another one can be sent almost immediately, and the reave can follow quickly. Plus the reave can't be dodged. The Justicar can BE across the map. The downside is that pull won't prime armored targets.

The Krodept BE is more powerful and warp primes armored targets. This is balanced by some downsides. The BE is a comparatively short range BE (how short depends on how shockwave is specced). The Krodept's cooldowns are a bit long for an adept, and longer still if barrier is used (which is too useful to not be used), And the Krodept needs a stronger (heavier) weapon to deal with bosses, so CD is even longer.  Bioware has done a maddeningly good job of balancing everything.

It takes time to master some Krogans, but they are obviously the best when it comes to brute force and pure damage! <3

Pull doesn't work against any form of defense, so a Justicar has to remove barriers and shields with her weapon before she can set up a bomb, at which point it's often easier to just finish shooting the target to death. The Shaman, however, can detonate against any defense.

The Shaman's big BE's are exactly what you should be using against bosses. Guns and melee will get rid of mooks faster than trying for explosions. Use powers for CC in this case. Against bosses, Warp then shoot while on CD, follow with Shockwave. Works very well.

Don't act silly around sync killers. Run away and get some distance if you have to. Warp has a decently long widow of effect so you have time to do so. But staying alive is more beneficial to your team than getting off a BE.

Also, there's a lot of powerful but light weapons in the game a Shaman can carry and still maintain respectable CD with Barrier up. I'm partial to the Talon myself.

On topic: yes I love the Krogan kits. I play the Soldier, Sentinel and Shaman regularly.

If I said they were the absolute best, some people would get upset at that fact.

I love the Krogans. I play most of them regularly. I used to play the Kroguard a lot but since I don't host a whole lot, I revert back to the other krogan. I love the soldier mainly because he gets the most powerful inferno grenades thanks to the fortification rank 5b. I also like playing the krolord cause he can do some hatesurfing with his overhead swing on his 2nd hit in the combo. Shaman has the strongest BE, regular sentinel has a lot of builds available. Just wish we had a krogan engy or a krogan infiltrator. A krogan infil would be hilarious, cloak, run up to the enemy, a 8 foot tall krogan says hello!

The Soldier and Sentinel would probably be in the top 10 kits in the game. Kroguard up there as well. The others are solid as well.

So if you gimp the BE and use a heavier weapon and rely more on melee, then what advantage does the Krodept have over Krosol or Batsen or Justicar or ......?

Barriered Warp + Shockwave strikes like a Mjolnir

And he's Krogan. He is more durable than Human Adept. If human Adept can do that, than Krogan can too.

Not saying KSA is bad but imo HA wins by a mile.

KSA doesn't have any cc power. Warp - shockwave can only create 1 BE and warp is eaiser to dodge than singularity.

HA is much squishier, but combat roll is such a nice survival ability. I'd take dodge and roll over more health/shields any day.

But all in all I play KSA as a semi weapon platform. Warp + warp 4 + hard hitting gun is destructive, but not in the same way as HA.

Krogan Shaman plays up close

You have a quad to get through Image IPB

Okay, that was bad - sorry! Image IPB

Anyways, on topic: I actually don't think that the krogan kits are 'beginner friendly' as such. I remember the first time I took the krentinel out for a whirl and I had an awful time because of how slow it was and the general lack of manouevrability. The irony being that it's the kit I've achieved my personal best score with (if you care about that sort of thing, which I don't).

I do agree that the krogan are a reliable go-to class. Level 1 on gold? Yep, definitely. They're meaty, buff and full of power.

I have to confess that I'm terrible with the krolord sentinel because I hate the melee gameplay that you need with the hammer. I'm also not too hot with the kroguard. Almost everyone I've seen runs it with a Reegar or Claymore and like to complain that Carnage is useless, even though it's the power I rely on most for the kit (I run it with the Executioner pistol).

The krogan soldier, vanilla sentinel and shaman adept are all amazing though. The shaman isn't the most powerful of the adept class in terms of biotics, but it definitely has durability. I like to run it with the Collector SMG.

I have a really rubbish manifest on PS3 at the moment, but I've done just fine on gold with a krogan soldier and a Graal II. Carnage and incendiary 'nades for fire explosions, and the rest is cheese.

You have to remember that there are pros and cons with every kit. Krogan are hardy and durable, but they lack speed and manouevreability. So really it all comes down to playstyle. All the humans (with the exception of the Destroyer, I believe) are very manouevreable - probably more so than any other species. But, of course, they lack the toughness than, say, the krogan.

If you're going for reliability; look no further than the trusty krogan. Also cross your fingers that you get landed with a well-played krolord sentinel, since so many of them are played badly (myself included! Image IPB)

So true.

I don't play krogan very often as I prefer to play more mobile characters with a dodge ability, but I love it when someone else on the team is playing one.

When scrubs use Krogan Warlords, expect a lot of bleedouts and insta-f*cks happening on them. I always warn them, but scrubs will be scrubs! :-D
