It... was either Super Mario Bros 3... or Metal Gear Solid.
I wanna say MGS, since we didn't have the NES when I lived in Illinois, which is where I watched my brother play MGS for the first time.

Sure I could never get passed that damn rattle snake when I was younger, but boy did I have fun with it.

Atari Tennis.
Edit: Though people call it "Pong" I wasn't aware that was its official name at the time. My dad called it Tennis

Colossal Cave / ADVENT? One of the original Star Trek games? Maybe something on Colecovision? Actually, I think my cousin had an Odyssey, so its Pong knockoff and variants. I liked the hockey game.
The first game I ever bought for myself was Starflight.

I'm among the geriatric generation that played Pong. My first computer game was some text adventure on a MacIntosh whose name I can't remember. My first PC game was Wizardry Gold - I got a shareware version of it.

I am not sure, but it might have been the original Sonic the Hedgehog on SEGA. Back when SEGA was a big games company.

Either Mario or Duck Hunt. Mario was my first game with my first system, but I think I played Duck Hunt before that at a cousin's house. Spyro was awesome, think that was the first I hit 100% completion with.
Speaking of first games, since leaving Bioware Ray Muzyka has been doing some traveling & giving many young aborigines a turn playing a few titles with his ipad. How crazy is that, video games can reach just about anywhere now.

Pong. Yeah, I'm old.
A few years later I played Space Invaders. I hated that too. I liked Pacman, though.
My first 3D shooter was Phantom Slayer back in about 1982.

Me dad had got himself some obscure computer - an Electron or something. Not sure what game I played first but Frog, Snapper (pacman), and Space Invaders were among em. Good times

The Electron wasn't too obscure! It was a cut-down BBC Micro, though they cut it down slightly too much for it to be entirely useful. I still have mine lying around and powered it up a few weeks back. It still "kinda" works although it's slightly poorly.Fortack wrote...
