The thread really should get back on topic.

How big a pile of templar helmets do you think can be made?

There's only one way to find out.

Wait what?!

Really?

...I thought you were more reasonble and enlightened.

Not one of those, thedas would be better off with out templars, circles and the chantry folks.

Tbh, I consider both Pro- Mages and Pro-Templars to act short-sighted. But lately some Pro-mages has been acting plain crazy

It doesn't help that their idiotic Leader all but declared her intent to lead seccesion repeatedly by calling for a vote from the enchanters.

Honestly i think the entire war could have been avoided if they had just gotten some one a bit more...reasonable and less insane in as grand enchanter.

I believe this is speculation.

The Dalish live longer than city elves, but is that because they're away from humans, or because they don't live in squalid alienages and each clan has a trained mage to help heal them?

He didn't say Dalish, he said Elves. Source is the City Elf origin. You can ask him if Elves can also be Grey Wardens and he mentions that one of the Wardens' greatest heroes (Garahel) was an Elf.

Really, the three group system I think sounds good. The Circle, the Templars, and the third group. Circle mages make local policies for the circles, third group makes overall policies, Templars enforce those policies. The third group comprised of Templars and mages, but they have to be nominated by both the Templar group and Circle group. The third group oversees the other two. The idea is one can't get a foothold over the other, because two will always check one. Not sure how it would actually work out, but sounds better than the mages being turned into the Dalish or a second tevinter.

Eh, I don't have much sympathy for the Dalish. Sympathy for city elves, sure, but not the dalish.

We could always simplify the whole world, though. Just bring back Ancient Tevinter and have it reconquer Thedas. Old problems are now gone, new problems to explore!

Pity its about the same as the Eastern Roman Empire in the late 300s AD according to most accounts.

As in a crumbling Wreck besieged on all sides.

Nope, well, that may play a part, but they most definitely live longer than humans and city-elves by staying away.

Play the Dalish origin. Talk to Master Ilen and he'll talk about how his father fought in a war that took place 100 years earlier....maybe more. They aren't immortal, but their lives are already extensive, and are getting longer.

This is the best solution as anything else would only lead to future conflicts, but Tevinter reconquering Thedas would be repetitive though.

I know Mr. Gaider has commented many times on the lifespan of the Dalish, but I have no idea where to dig them up and I don't think the Wikia talks about their lifespan much.

Which ignores Mary Kirby outright saying that wasn't true.

But let's take that dialogue straight. I want to start talking about the dwarves that live hundred of years based on the quest dialogue that accompanies with Orta and Ortan Thaig. If we do the math on how she uses generations, dwarves like about 150-200 years.

Bioware's b0rked their timeline so often in dialogue that taking this one line as absolute proof of how long elves live when Mary Kirky outright said that this is not true is just ridiculous.

That sounds like propaganda though. It would place his father at around 700 years old as i remember the battle having directly taken place after the fall of the Dales. If the elves can live that long then theoretically they lost all knowledge of their culture in one generation.

Because you don't agree with the non pro mages?

To be fair, Ares said "some" not all. Yes, there are crazy/hardcore mage and Templar supporters, although they are more entertaining to read.

Just to clarify, I'm not a fan of either group really.

I see the merits to the Templars dedication to maintaining order and keeping the risks mages pose to a minimum.

That said, the Circle solution is imperfect, and when a nut like Meredith takes over bad things can happen quickly.

Let's see: you have some talked about doing what Anders did in other places, which is an act of terrorism no matter how to try to deny it or defend it

There were some who talked about hanging or doing other things to the Divine (who actually wants to help the mages but keep the Circle)

But as like I said only some Pro-mages has only been acting crazy

This thread has become a hybrid of Mages vs Templar and Chantry vs Dalish/Elves, and it hasn't completely exploded yet, I'm surprised, but it is only 17 pages.

Well, bombs can have legitimate uses. As for Justinia... she's the very definition of "too little, too late," but I don't see a need to kill her. She's not, after all, a templar.

And I would've add that to the list I posted above but I'd rather leave that in the short-sighted section
