Also it seems like the Inquisitor will have a pet raven.

I suspect that raven is Morrigan.

Gaider's Tumblr: "And, no, the bird is not actually part of the game. #dreamkiller" Le sigh.

Despite being an avid dog lover, I never got attached to my mabari. I'd like to have another pet, but would love to see more options.

Then why make it such a focus in all the concept art? I call foul! Shenanigans! (I kid, I kid.) In short: Boooo.

It could be symbolic of the Inquisitor's alliance with Morrigan.

I'd like a giant spider or scorpion for pet/mount.

Sounds like terrible nightmare bait tbh

A big fearsome Mabari running along me and my steed as we charge in battle.... Yes please!

Well that's a bummer /: What's the point of even drawing half the pics of the Inquisitor with a raven then.

We're going to ally with morrigan?

Also didn't she hate the dog?

I want my Qunari to have a Mabari, then she can tell him that he's a true warrior worthy of respect, making the rest of the companions jealous :)

Yeah we should have a mabari. That are kind of iconic now, aren't they? Sort of like how chocobos are in final fantasy, slimes in dragon quest/warriors, and pikachu in pokemon?

Does that make Nugs Moogles?

I'd prefer to have a different pet. Mabari had their time to shine.

Only if they have special magic and make cute noises.

Otherwise nah, because Moogles are furry and have giant red balls attached to their heads by a piece of string, while nugs are hairless and.... don't?

Plus Moogles can weild weapons, deliver mail and dance. Unless there is something the dwarves are hiding from us, I don't think nugs can do any of those things. (although i can imagine trained nugs being used to deliver mail between thaigs)

I love dogs in real life, but I don't want yet another mabari in DA3. Two games and a expansion is more than enough. A baby dragon or griffin would be a better choice.

I want a ferret or a colugo. I like mabaris, but I just feel like having something different this time.

As Inquisitor, you must have a mabari as a bodyguard considering you're such a prominent figure. However, I feel that I also need something bigger than a mabari too...

A dragon. A baby dragon that grows on your adventure. Muhaha. I'm not sure if it would fit in the lore but it would be nice to see my little dragon getting into small fights with my mabari out of jealousy. Then when those annoying Orlesians come along I can sic my dragon on them.

I mean, I am Inquisitor and I'm going to be assaulting many keeps. What better companion to bring down walls than a dragon himself? An army of infantry is overrated!

Don't dragons take hundreds of years to grow? I'm not sure how that would work.

I have a conflicted opinion towards the whole mabari thing. I definitely understand why up 'til now all your characters have one. From what I understand, they are beasts of war, and are drawn to people that hold that air of self worth. But I feel also that as unique and idolized as they supposedly are, that having them tied to every main character takes away from that. In Origins it was a really cool thing, because you hear about how noble, and loyal these creatures are, and you think "I have my own! That's awesome!", and now going on the third game, and possibly getting another, it's just something we've come to kind of expect. At this point, we really don't think of the mabari as anything other than its just a bad ass beast that you have at your disposal.

Yea, which is why I don't think having a dragon fits into the lore. How the heck are you going to convince a massive dragon to be your pet? Someone better have some <3 magic because all we've seen/heard about dragons is hostility. Their intelligence is still a bit unclear too. It has been implied some are very intelligent. in DA:O the dragon cult was allowed to take care of dragonlings in exchange for dragon blood.

I hope we can choose our war animal. Eg., Mabari, Wolf, Bronto or Halla, each with their own personality, combat style and maybe even special abilities.

A mabari only if he/she is Fereldan. Otherwise I think a horse would be better. Some horses are really intelligent, and who wouldn't want to create that epic bond between a hero and his/her steed that is the stuff of legends.

No cats. Cats are evil, and there's been more than enough cats on the internet in the last few years to last a lifetime for me. ;)
