I would definitely think that the Inquisitor would know who these people are. They may not recognize their faces at first, but they'd know the name and reputation. These are famous people, ther reputation precedes them, and it is the job of an inquisitor to know things.

Some of these are cool but all of them will feel cheap.

I have been thinking, if there are for example any other survivors of the attack on Castle Cousland except the Warden, then maybe instead of them being characters you converse with (and maybe have a sidequest with), they could just be present in some crowd or something when you return to Ferelden, as an "Easter egg" for the people who played the Human Noble origin? Even though I obviously prefer the first option.

Yes, I dislike how it is made out that a twenty something (I am guessing that the Inquisitor will be in his twenties when the game starts) who has lived for his whole life in a country (in this case Ferelden) knows nothing about the country, as if he was born on the same day that the game starts.

Talking about little details.. item descriptions! Bring them back David. Pretty please.

Yes, it would be really nice if they were brought back. I hope that the game in general will be closer to Dragon Age: Origins than to Dragon Age 2.

This, pretty much.

We will have a number of callbacks to things from Origins, some of them very significant, but even then we often introduce these things without the assumption that a player remembers the reference even if they did play DAO. That is two games ago, after all, and while someone who has been posting regularly on these forums since DAO's release and who has played the game N+ times might remember every last thing from the game... well, there's really only so much content we're going to put in for such a player, sorry.

That's good to hear! I personally am not a fan of endlessly self-referential works. It just turns into continuity bloat.

Learning of the Warden-Commander's post-game loss of Vigilance was quite a blow at the conclusion of Awakening; so I really would enjoy seeing the Inquisitor recover that fabled sword. Too much effort went into crafting it, and you often got to wield it for such a short time that this would be nice. Unfortunately the DA:I lead character isn't intended to be a Grey Warden, so perhaps not seeing it would be best!

I also second the suggestion that cramming so many previous NPC's into Inquisition is frankly not a good idea.

This is something i did miss. If the developers bring it back then great, if not well i won't be losing any sleep over it.

4. Bevin showing up as an adventurer in a side-quest if you gave him back his grandfather's sword.

I would actually really like this one Posted Image

He would be older and as an adventurer it would make sense for him to travel around.

The greatsword Ageless (you get it if you beat the dragon in the royal palace in Orzammar) should be recoverable if you beat the dragon.

What? Why? I sold that thing faster than you can say 'Blight'.
Although encounters like this one might have consequences or callbacks in Inquisition, I don't think getting that specific sword makes a whole lot of sense.

Dragon Age Origins is the first game, not the main game. It is over, the story has been told there. We all love it and all but jesus christ on a pogo stick can we be done asking DAI to be saturated with references and the return of Hawke and the warden? DAI is not supposed to be a trip down sentimental lane for the people too invested in the other games to move on with the universe history.

Didn't all other origin character die...I mean the ones you did not pick as PCs?

Pretty much this.

We don't know about Mahariel/Tamlen, but it sounds reasonable..

Dwarf Aeducan dies, as they mention that Endrin lost 2 fine sons and only had Bhelen left.

Dwarf Casteless dies as you find out when taking out the Carta and his buddy tells you so.

City Elf especially if female is likely dead as its made clear what Vaughn does to the women he captures, (Rapes, beaten then kills them.) I remember it being said that their bodies usually turn up somewhere within the city afterwards. Solis however doesn't mention a cousin at all when you meet him on any other non city elf playthru, either female or male.

Human Noble is likely dead, as the Kennel Master tells us "his master died in the last battle." it might not be the same Mabari as the human noble, but it would make some sense, as we know that Teryn Cousland was debating the issue with his wife, perhaps if you don't play the noble human the decision swings in the other direction and both heirs join the kings army in their fathers stead and hence the Couslands are no more.

Human or Elf Magi can be ruled either way but no evidence even leads to their existence, you could argue Solona Amell or the male version whatever his name is, exist because of Leandra mentioning how her cousins children were taken by the templars and put into the Circle, but unless your Warden Commander was a Amell, I don't think she hints at this or at any specific relative. In other words we don't know if it was the would be Warden Amell who ever enters the circle is just some other random Amell.

Yes, and you have reminded me about that small painted box that you could take from the Circle of Magi and give it to the Friends of Red Jenny in Denerim, it was never explained what it actually was/is.

Red Jenny is actually Irving's alter ego. He dresses up in drag and fights crime by night.

Don't forget to add Shapeshifter as a Specialization.
Also more than 3 specializations per class, make it a nice round number like 4. :) Then another 2 per DLC. or something.

I really hope the cameo's will be about essential npc and companions from the previous games, not origin story (and other minor) characters that we spent five seconds with.
