I don't understand very well when people say "Support character" because for me the best support I can give is the one that don't leave any enemy alive.
What is a support character?

Well, since crutches are considered a "support", I say TGI and AIU are support characters xD

As far as I know, the best support classes there are are the ones that kill stuff fastest. The more stuff is dead, the less stuff there is to shoot you.

PUGs are a drawback, they make me revive them and they slow down objectives because they decide to not do them and run to the other side of the map and die. lol.

When I was disabling a device today I had a pug paladin plant his shield right in front of me, so that a possessed scion could carpet-bomb me as well. Luckily they exploded a millisecond after I was done. Still wanted to murder him.RedJohn wrote...

Depends on enemy and situation.
Vs Cerberus or geth, a Justicar with a tech team can help detonate explosives while debuffing enemies and buffing teammates.
A TSE can make any tech team 50% better in addition to shutting down the geth.
A SE vs reapers can make marauders' shields disappear while distracting them and cannibals.
Support dont mean youre not killing anything. Its what makes "good" "great".

This is a support.
On a more serious note, a support class is one which helps other players fill their role more effectively - whether that is actually implemented or even needed varies from game to game; last time I checked ME did not require them and did not reward them well either - the shipped game didn't even include any support classes (I'd argue that the geth shield recharge turret was the first support item)
