This is a support.
On a more serious note, a support class is one which helps other players fill their role more effectively - whether that is actually implemented or even needed varies from game to game; last time I checked ME did not require them and did not reward them well either - the shipped game didn't even include any support classes (I'd argue that the geth shield recharge turret was the first support item)
Didn't need the more serious note ... just TF2

They came out at the same exact time. They're both support items.Tokenusername wrote...

However, the problem with support in this game is not that it doesn't exist but that the overall cost of having one or more players adopt a supporting role is greater than the possible benefit unless that player is really, really, really bad.

The first one is, e.g., a bad juggy, going down all the time while surrounded by Banshees/Primes/Atlases, so we try to revive, get magnethanded or blasted into oblivion. So we spend consumables to keep the game running, Bioware is happy.
The second one is the rage quitting host, because after the host quits we use yet another round of ammo type, etc. without having a choice. So credits down the drain, hail to RNG, Bioware is happy again.
Err, did I just write this?

Protip: Dont use any quotes from that movie in your signature. Mods find it offensive.

I consider it to be a character that isn't a big damage dealer outright, but does any of the following: debuffs, boosts shields, crowd control, primes and/or detonates combos. Any of the Volus are good examples. I also consider the FQE to be a great support character.

Why does a support character have to equal being bad or a kit that sucks?
Cause this is BSN. We fight on BSN.

Because, why use an over-inflated beach ball, when you have the GI? Or a Drell?

I would argue that Medics are really the only class in TF2 that plays support, since whenever I join a game, I normally get put on a team full of incompetent snipers and/or spies that don't push the bomb or capture the cp, but, y'know... battle medics.Chealec wrote...

Cloak to heal allies/do objectives
Proxy mine debuff
Hunter Mode gives wallhack to inform teammates on enemy movements
Heavy Melee is AOE and stunlocks some enemies, allowing allies to get potshots.
Tada, support!

Posting this gave me shypilis. And that gif is hypnotizing.
And all that sh*t about the QFE and the QFI gave me aids and cancer, now I just have to find a cavern where I can try drinking myself to oblivion.
