I guess you can choose to play a kit in a support role like a kit using sabotage for a flame using team mate etc but not sure you can actually categorise any kit as a support kit
this is a good reply

a character with chain overload would augment a snap-freeze or a flamer character.
an adept with reave would augment a biotic team.
prox mines and cryo attacks augment weapon damage.
"support" is a very relative term. While I agree that the best support is the one that kills best, being able to play off each others strengths is usually as helpful and a whole lot more enjoyable to play.
edit: redjohn pls. why did I respond to this thread??

Many times PUG's won't even realize that the game was so easy because you and your Human Engineer with Falcon just chain locked EVERYTHING, disabled Phantoms, primed everything for explosions, stripped shields for easy kills and in general held the enemy away from teammates on hacks or escorts.

GI is the best support character:
Cloak to heal allies/do objectives
Proxy mine debuff
Hunter Mode gives wallhack to inform teammates on enemy movements
Heavy Melee is AOE and stunlocks some enemies, allowing allies to get potshots.
Tada, support!

There is no kit in this game which is a pure support character, but there are support builds which mainly are Volus or Juggernaut.

so in general, FQE, FQI, male quarians, AJ, and volus, all to some extent can be qualified as 'support classes'.
but that shouldn't stop them from being just as killy as the next guy, male quarians especially

Why does a support character have to equal being bad or a kit that sucks? If played well a support character is a great asset because they do just that; support the team.
I consider it to be a character that isn't a big damage dealer outright, but does any of the following: debuffs, boosts shields, crowd control, primes and/or detonates combos. Any of the Volus are good examples. I also consider the FQE to be a great support character.
I play a FQE almost exclusively and certainly dont mind being "support" She's fast, nimble and with my M-90 Indra (not the highest damage dealer by far) but I can strip armor across the board before I can readily target them and am almost always the top or second highest score.
Personally, I think that a support character has the most DIFFICULT task and if you are playing it right, WILL go down because you are re-directing the enemy Aggro from the rest of the team during objectives or covering someone who is reviving a teammate.
i'm not the Best by any means, but I do what I can to support the rest of my team and keep them alive.

You crazy, that FQE is good damnit!
And I would think that any Stasis carrying character would make good support for any biotic squad. While turrents & volus sheild boast bring the support!
