Yes, that would be very favourable. Given the way physics work, and drawing from my sheer infinite cache of real life two-handed-melee-weapon-combat expertise, I'd say of course you'd let go momentarily during some moves, but DA2's two-handed weapon animations were the pinnacle of anime-esque over the top flair. And I did not like it.
I did like the way archery was given a credible identity in the second game, though. I would wish for a specialisation class for rogues that directly favors ranged combat.
