I would have had Liara sent to the Crucible Project. Don't get me wrong I like her, I just think she would be more useful there.

What would I have changed...

I may have posted here in this thread already, but the answer is a ****ton.

More player agency is always the best. More of an ability to determine Shepard's mindset, behavior, attitude, and personality. Tailor decisions, choices, and relationships into the game more.

Be able to choose which characters are important to your Shepard's story. Not just have characters (like Liara or Garrus) be defined for you as your Shepard's best friend.

Have Thane,Mordin,Legion,Miranda,Jacob,Grunt,Wrex,Zaeed,Jack,Samara,and Kasumi as squadmates.

As pointed out by many others, make the Crucible a device that disables the Reapers kinetic barriers(through mass relays),so they CAN be defeated conventionally, and you War Assets actually matter.

Eh I like the games the way they are but yeah I got a few things I would like to change for each game.
Mass Effect 1
- The death on Virmire- It's just vision. I think the impact would have been much better if the squadmate you sent with the Salarians was directly killed by Saren. Say, shot to the face? I think it would have had more impact that way, plus if the two/three squadmates were doing something while this was all going on instead of sitting on the Normandy playing Poker.

Mass Effect 2
- Lazarus Project. Badly executed if you ask me as Shepard just wakes and just continues from where he is left off. When I did my first playthrough, it dawned me that I've been dead for 2 years. It made me a little depressed but there was no option for my Shepard to feel this way. Not to mention how it felt, pointless. Just to get you to work with Cerberus. There could have been a much better idea there.
-Collectors. I wouldn't feel bad about fighting the Collectors if it mattered in ME3. Even if the base choice mattered outside of a few points I would have felt defeating the Collectors would have had more purpose. Just felt a little empty.
-Obtaining forces. We do this in Mass Effect 3 but it would have felt much better if we did this in Mass Effect 2. In Mass Effect 3 I understanding getting the Council and the races to help but what about getting smaller forces, more dirtier forces? Like merc groups, some factions in Cerberus that are considering going rogue like we see in Mass Effect 3. Like send Garrus and Jack to meet some old friends and contacts to see if they can recruit any groups and/or weapons as say favors. Shepard gets one favor from each group. If they did this it could have had impact on the suicide mission if you wanted to bring a group you've recruited along or save them for when the Reapers arrive.
-Romances. I love the romances the way they are but it feels sorta fast for me. Be nice to rekindle with Liara before Shadow Broker DLC. Get her out the office. Or bond with Tali, Miranda, Jack and the other romances outside of their loyalty missions. Dates, presents and the like. Plus this could open up dialogue for characterizing your Shepard. Being asked questions about your character, their interests and what not if you've thought that far into your character.
-Resupplying. This came from the chef. Resupplying food, getting weapons fixed, buying ammo and what not from the Citadel and possibly the supply depot. This could open up more dialogue for squadmates.
-More instances. Remember that instant mission where you gotta stop that ship from crashing into the planet? Be nice to have more missions like that. Say you're walking on a more dangerous side of Omega (Omega needs bigger maps) and a random shootout breaks out between say Aria's men and Bloodpack. You could side with one group, kill them both, or evade it all together. Siding with a group could open up some side missions from the leader of that particular squad of said faction. Or kill them both and then they send assassins after you and you could get the assassins to meet each other and wipe each other out.

Mass Effect 3
-Space battles. I know it's been said but I think it would have been awesome to face a huge Reaper with the Normandy and coordinate teammates and people on the ship. Just Shepard barking out orders. Jeff into that asteroid field! Garrus, is the gun ready!? Tali, help Adams with the hull breach on the third level. Etc etc.
-The Battle for Earth and Earth's immediate capturing. I didn't like how in the first few mins Earth is captured and how throughout the game its a focal point. I always thought we would fight a struggle against the Reapers for Earth. And the battle at the end of the game where we do fight for Earth just felt too fast. I was expecting more tactical choices, sending Kaidan with his biotic squad, having Liara coordinate her Shadow Broker forces. Not just one big quick finale though that does make sense since we send all of our forces at the Reapers which didn't even make too much sense to me. It would have been smarter, IMO, if we sent the Normandy along with selected groups like Kirrahe's STG group, that Salarian Spectre's group and possibly one of the merc groups from Aria as a way of softening up the Reapers on the ground for the main invasion force. Would have felt more involved then just stopping one ground Reaper and rushing a beam.
-Lack Of Halting Reaper Advance. I felt so frustrated at how fast the Reapers could take over entire systems so quickly. Every time I went to the galaxy map and see how many systems got taken I would be furious! Why can't I join large battles on the ground!? What happened to Hackett finding chinks in their armor!? Would have felt more like a war IMO.

Theirs more but this is just what came to mind at this moment.
