For The Elves

The Mage Background was Dalish according to the PAX thread
The Warrior ( City Elf Rumor)
The Rogue( Antivan Crow Rumor)

Do you happen to have a citable source?

I found a source. Official confirmation would be gold but Pseudocognition seems pretty sure about the Dalish mage inquisitor being a thing.

For my ending it said that due to the dales participation humans started to welcome them. Eventually they were allotted land near ostagar. Tensions between humans and dalish elves soon rose but keeper lanaya is doing her best to maintain peace.

My boon was to make the circle independent.

I guess as long as you choose the elves over the werewolf this will happen?

Thanks for the link. The news has made me happy since I originally heard it, and it's nice to see that it seems to be a real possibility for the protagonist.

It\\s a bug. You're only supposed to get it for the Dalish origin if you ask for it.

That is actually a bug. Unfortunately.

By the way, my Surana Warden also asked for the independence of the Circle of Ferelden.

Lanaya? So it wasn't the wardens clan that lives there?

It wasn't just one clan that tried to settle there.

Alistair gave the Dalish the HINTERLANDS?!

What? Why not Brecilian Forest?

That is obnoxious they give them the Hinterlands, just south of it is the worst hit by the blight, probably not that great in the Hinterlands either. Also, that is next to Redcliffe, a big and influential place now, is it really okay to just establish a permanent foreign presence next to it? I can see Fereldans being upset.

Also, with the Kocari Wilds to the south being all messed up (probably) the Dalish will have to deal with Chasind moving north, or possibly back south to get to their old tribal lands, and the Dalish don't like humans poking about, thus that'll cause issues.

That just sounds like a real bonehead move to place them there. The Brecilian Forest would have been a better option.

I don't think it's such a strange move when you think about it.

Redcliffe is a military fortress and likely a military province (a so called March) so it can neatly keep the elves bottled in and prevent them from moving into fereldan heartlands. On the other side we got Lothering and the Southron hills, the latter also likely being fortified.

It does not seem to be very populated, suggesting the place isn't very prosperous and the only inhabitants to speak of are Chasind, Avvar and frontiersmen. People that at best would only pay lipservice to the crown.

Given the climate of the Korcari wilds, I suspect the Hinterlands are not much better.

Whereas the Brecilian forest belongs to the Teyrnir of Gwaren, is right next door to the Bannorn and fairly hospitable when you're not too deep inside.

It's one of those "gifts" that costs you nothing. The Hinterlands was likely only nominally Fereldan in the first place. Hand it over to the elves and let them sort it out, sort of.

I suspect what happened was either that the locals got a bit upset about this or a famine struck the elves. Or they simply got insulted that the crown wanted to hand them -that-.

Allistair seems to act like it was something for him to make up to them in DA 2 so I feel like it was probably the local humans that caused problems with the Dalish.

I dunno man. What if this time it was the mabari. Wild mabari just don't like elves.

The same thing that always happens. The Dalish get all uppity and attack humans resulting in swift and terrible retribution from said humans. They then whine about how hard done by they are.

I just avoid the problem of Dalish land claims by slaughtering them in origins.

Andrastians lived in the Hinterlands, since we find Shale there, so that's possible.

Shale kicked out all the Dalish to make room for herself.

She needs a lot of room.

Well it's not like the lands they were given were uninhabited. I'd imagine the chasined would have something to say about the dalish moving in.

Not to mention, that whole area's a blightland.

Personally, I'm more curious about a City Elf Warden making a Bann of the Denerim Alienage, since the Dalish land boon at least gets a mention in DA2, while the bann part never does.

I'm going to guess this is because no one in DA2 has any connection to the city elf plot. However, no one has any connection to any plot except the mage and Dalish ones, so city elf isn't singled out there.

The bugs with that boon could be another factor.

Isn't the keep going to fix the bug problems?

Self quoting me because this is honestly bothering me. Ostagar and the surrounding area are blighted, tainted, and bloodstained after the events of Origins.

Seems the "boon" was more of giant middle finger. "Hey, let's let the dalish clean up this mess!"

Hopefully, it will resolve the issues that transpired with importing between Origins, Awakening, and Dragon Age II.

Gwaren's there. One of the bigger Fereldan cities. The hinterlands has nothing the humans will miss.
