Did Shepard even inseminate his love interest (I don't think inseminate is the correct technical term for Liara)?

How do you know they weren't using future space rubbers or something?

I doubt they wanted to concieve a child in the middle of a Reaper end-of-galaxy crisis.

I hope that something like this does occur somewhere in the Mass Effect trilogy. I've had it with these One Night Stands.

From Casey himself source: http://docs.google.c...xshh_82cx7t67db

CaseyH-ME2: Finally, if you are worried about the role of the ME1 love interest in the trilogy, consider that the romance itself is told across the trilogy, in 3 acts. Apply the 3-act concept to what's happening in your relationship with them, and you might guess where we're going with it.

James Bond, err I mean Shepard doesn't have children. Well, he might, somewhere. He just doesn't know about it. Love em and leave em.

"It's interesting idea, but in my opinion it might ruin the flow of the trilogy. I don't want Mass Effect 3 to open with "20 years later..."

Can you say "Epilogue"?

if you're playing male Shepard you'd have to get a little girl and spoil her

can you imagine show & tell at school?

Shep: "This is an Alliance standard issue assault rifle"
lilSheppy *hurling melon onto the table*: "and this is the head of the guy who took my lunch money"

Shep: *fires AR at melon*
kiddies sitting in first row *get covered in melon splatter*

The ME games are so much about building relations...making friendships and taking care of these friendships...

Love interest are a sort of "cheap thrill" - as it seems very linear - but then again - we're not playing the Sims here Image IPB

Now I was wondering - Offspring.

Shepard's son or daughter?
Impact on story...
Plot opportunities for post mortem ME3?

What do you think? Good Idea? Bad Idea? Will it happen?

I would say any offspring would just end up being irrelevant.  Sure Bioware can spin something from it, but it would never really add up to anything during THIS trilogy.

This would actually cause me to go back to ME1, and rebuild an all new character and deliberately go out of my way to NEVER have a LI.  I HATE kids lol...Sodding little ankle biters are annoying.  The only way I'd continue any LI at that point would be if I had the option to tell my LI that she had better get on the pill or condoms lol.  Otherwise, it'd ruin the entire LI concept for me.

Hell, I even almost opted for death in DA rather than have a child with Morrigan.  The only reason I agreed to it is because she told me I'd never see the little bugger lol.  Seriously though,  as long as the "system" had the option like in Fable II where you could take prevenitive measures against "conception" then I wouldnt mind it that much.  But if it was more like a crap shoot where you might get her pregnant, or you might not....I'd break off any LI I had at that point and say that's a no-go for me...

I think kids should be an option. Some people like to get kids others hate it. The kid shouldn't be part of the ME trilogy. But I can see a little kid being born at the end of ME3, a wife that is unavailable for the final mission or a fem shep in the final movie with a big belly ready to give birth.

They might make 4-5-6 and then your twins have to save the galaxy from reaper Darth Vader who tells his son, luke I am your father. You know how the story goes.

But I would see no reason why not to have the option to kick your relationship to the next level and make it more a stable relationship. Sure, I don't want a kid with Ashley, but Miranda wouldn't make bad kids I think, don't know if Tali can have kids with a human, doubt it, but you never know.

It doesn't have to impact the gameplay for the trilogy, just an option to go to the next level or stay save and never get kids.

So Mass Effect 3 end. Awesome Massive explosion consumes something(the Citadel? So the Reapers cannot come back) screen goes black. Flash to Shepard with gray hair and a long beard sitting next to elderly Li both sitting in their living room, telling the kids about the good old days. The entire game has been Shepard remembering. Camera moves to shot of the window, Reaper shadow in the sky, swelling music, black screen, credits roll.

Having children with your LI? People do realize that playing as FemShep is a valid option in this game. I cannot fathom FemShep spending 9+ months gestating a child by Kaidan or Jacob, or some alien half-breed with Thane if that's even possible. No. Shepard's a woman of action, running around in armor with a baby onboard would be stupid.

ME3:  The Pregnancy Years?  I don't think so.

i think it be cool if you had a kid in mass effect 3. My LI is Liara i would like to have a Asari daughter. Or on the off chance that tali is a romance option i would love to see what a half human half quarian kid would be like. Wonder if they would have a stronger immune system...

A cutscene at the end of ME3 i am gussing, it will be showing a few months later showing Shep sitting with his/her LI holding the baby but not revealing the baby other than being in a blanket.

yea I dont think that DNA is really mixed up with asari's....they only tune brainwaves - and the child would always remain asari. Just like its explained in ME1
