What if Morrigan had never told you about the Dark Ritual...

And then you'd be completely surprised that you spent the night with her and survived slaying the Archdemon?

I could see Morrigan doing it, but you know all that anger that goes along with being defrauded and betrayed by a companion? You'd get that. (Along with some supporters, and some people who separate their reaction from their PC's.)

And I would have spent 15 minutes softly sobbing.

Morrigan got her way with me by being honest about it.

She got what she wanted by being straight up with him. (Inasmuch as Morrigan is capable of being honest).

I can't see how it could work with a female warden. Morrigan would have to give her a pretty good reason for convincing Alistair to sleep with her. Is Loghain an option here? I never let the bastard live, but maybe he's looking for one last tumble too.mousestalker wrote...
Not to mention, what would the female wardens do? Would Morrigan continue to be upfront with them so that Alistair gets convinced or would there be some other scenario?

My Warden would've looked at her like she was crazy and then went "Why?"

Loghain is not eager to participate, but like Alistair, he can be talked into it.

I suppose a clueless male Warden would see all the candles and ritually slaughtered goat and be convinced it's just a kink of Morrigan's though.

Get real. Easy enough to say your warden would refuse.
Harder if your're a young man in your 20's and a beautiful young woman offers to sleep with you.
Been me back then I would have said yes.
All my male warden romance Morrigan first, release her when she falls in love, then romance Leliana, with one exception because I thought my warden might have to stay faithful to follow Morrigan through the eluvian in witch hunt. Turns out you can follow her through regardless .
I always do the dr as well.
Not realistic to think you could turn down a beautiful woman if you were actually in that situation imo.

I am a woman, but I'd like to think that if I were a man and in a committed relationship I'd still turn her down instead of being a penis-controlled man-****. I still say he'd given her the boot if she just tried to seduce him, especially knowing how tricky and vindictive she can be.
Also it would be a lot easier if she wasn't your 'type'. I actually had a male warden already in a relationship with Leliana who turned her down when she asked him if he felt something more (which happens if her approval gets high enough and you haven't already triggered the romance). Her dialogue when she learns that you don't think of her as some warm body to jump on and actually consider her a friend is rather sweet and touching. That particular character actually forced Loghain to do the ritual with her, so he NEVER slept with her. He just really wasn't attracted to her. Man, that's gonna be one ugly OGB unless he favors his mom.

Totally. Heck she told me about the Dark Ritual and I still was all for it. I mean here we have a ritual that will (a) save my life (
Than when he or Alistair killed the arch demon, whoever did the deed would have closed his eyes and braced for death. Nothing happens. The Warden, assuming he made the killing blow, opens one eye, then the other. He looks around. He scratches the back of his neck, and shifts the weight from one foot to another.
"So...uhh....has it started yet?" Alistar asks.
"I'm not sure." the Warden replies.
"Suppose we have time for a pint with the others before you die?" Alistair asks.
"Yeah, that sounds good." The Warden says.
And so off to the pub the triumphant heroes go and, after repairing the bar a bit, they drink and laugh and cry and talk about old times and new opportunities. As his companions go home for the night they bid the soon-to-be dead hero a fond farewell. Nothing happens still.
The whole of the next week the same thing happens until one-by-one his companions tell the Warden "Listen, I know you're supposed to die soon but, frankly, these fond farewells are really killing my productivity at work, so I'm going to have to skip out on these." The Warden drinks alone.
The Warden, over the course of the next few months, has about 512 last pints. He is constantly approached by women hoping to court him and he will tell them "Listen, I can't get into a long term relationship right now. I'm going to die sometime in the next five minutes." This will cause problems later on when they see him telling the same thing to some other woman.
The Warden will pass up on job opportunities, proposals of marriage and other fine wonderful things, all because he' knows he's going to die sometime in the next five minutes or so. Before heading to the Deep Roads, he will have ended up a sad bitter old man constantly looking at his watch and saying "Geeze...what's taking so long?" It will be a sad tragic story of loss and falls from grace.
So it's just as well Morrigan mentioned the ritual.

It wouldn't last that long. Before long Weisshaupt would say "You know, you don't seem to be dying."

Riverdaleswhiteflash: Actually the first person to point that out would probably be the bartender after the Warden got too many "I'm about to die." discounts on drinks.
