My PS3 now start having memory leaks with the first match I host. Especially if there are more than 1 Cluster Grenade spammer on the team. I think it's safe to add Jade to that list.
Somehow, Collectors and Hazard maps are not giving me that much problems.
If the first game I host is Platinum then I get serious frame rate drops and long enemy spawn and objective delays, regardless of map or enemy or teammates.
Jade has given me a few problems too but London is much worse in my experience.
Does it help if you start with Gold and progress to Plat?
I've not tried that, I don't imagine it would help but who knows.
I also tried all those tips Dida sent me courtesy of JKthunder to help my PS3 out a bit. But I'd be lying if I said there was a noticeable difference.

On a side note, duo/solo tends to have less framerate drops somehow.

I appreciated the tips greatly, but I share the same conclusion.

And...
COLLECTORS ALL DAY EVERYDAY!
I'm serious. Too much fun to not play against them.

That's exactly my target audience, new players who want to know why their toaster isn't working right. And I will, but it's tricky since I'm posting from my phone now.N7didacus wrote...
That's no news for most, but it should help new players on the forum. I guess you could specify the hazards and add other maps that cause issues.

1. Make sure your PS3 is off.
2. Hold down the power button. The system will turn on, then turn back off.
3. Once it shuts down, release the power button and hold it down again until you hear 2 beeps followed by another pair in quick succession.
4. Release the power button once you hear those 2 quick beeps.
5. Plug in your controller with the USB cable and press the PS button; the Recovery menu will pop up.
6. Select Restore File System.
ETA: "Rebuild Database" is another helpful option which I forgot to mention. Also don't hit "Restore PS3 System" as this will return your PS3 to its out-of-the-box condition and delete EVERYTHING.
This DOES NOT delete any save data, games saved to your hard drive, save game files or DLC. It DOES delete Sent/Received messages. The PS3 doesn't work the same way that a computer does, but think of this like a disk defrag for your computer. It improves performance, smooths out some rough edges and generally makes it easier to play whatever game you're playing. I don't know if this really helps or if I'm just lucky when I play Collectors (which is fairly rare but getting more common) but it's worth a shot for people who like playing them.

Pearl, something you might want to add to your OP? I don't think it's a placebo effect and it's worth mentioning. I've found it more useful than the "reduce your brightness to -2" suggestion.

I knew I had read that somewhere on the forum before. It was probably thunder who posted it. I wanted to throw it in this thread because it HAS made a difference for me - not just with ME3 but with other games that have issues, as well. The "Rebuild Database" option can take some time but it's still worth it.

If you restart with early detection than you ultimately save time since if you want to avoid the corruption check, you have to shut it off normally which takes forever once you start losing frames.johnnythao89 wrote...
Thanks for the thread, OP. :-D But I really hate resetting my PS3, it takes quite a bit to get back into the game as well, and so, a bit of a dilemma.

IMO both of those functions do improve the PS3's performance all around. However, it doesn't seem to make memory leak happen slower or less frequently on ME3 for me.

not that I'd reccomend doing that if you care about your saved data, but you can skip it if you e want to.

I think it depends on patience. Do you really need to get back, because your friends may think you're going offline, or are you just impatient and will risk it all? I always do the corruption check if it should appear, but if my friends are unaware of why I'm offline, then I really need to head back in there. Oh, and I noticed that if you start ME3 again as a scrub, you hardly get any framerate problems. Like after a Wave ends, there's no little pause and then resume. But as you keep playing, it starts to build up and eventually it's never the same again.

All that stuff helps, if only just a tad bit. But in the end this game just doesn't work well on the Ps3 and in the long term all you can do to help yourself get a clean experience of this game is getting it on another system.

My PS3 does freeze and crash on occasion. Some games are worse than others (*cough*Bethesda*cough*) but I think I have less issues than other people with ME3.
Some things I think help a bit are that I have one of the newer PS3 models, and I've replaced the hardddrive with an SDD. I've regularly reinstalled the OS.
But what I think helps the most is that I keep my PS3 from heating up. The SDD helps with that. I built my entertainment center to have good airflow. And I regularly take the PS3 outside and compressed-air all the dust out of it.
I still get obvious memory leak problems, like after a bunch of collectors the whole system slows down, but I get a lot less random stuff than I hear about.
